Description

Paddle or motor yourself to a lakeside campsite and sleep above the leftovers of sheer Sierra cliffs that descend into the slender bay to create a designated underwater park where scuba exploration is permitted! Boat-in camp features twenty primitive campsites tucked between the shade of trees, just a hop, skip and a jump from the sweet waters of Emerald Bay. Each campsite has a table, storage locker and a fire ring. Chemical toilets can also be found in the campground, but no showers. If water travel isn’t your jam, Boat-in Camp is accessible via good old fashioned foot travel along the scenic Rubicon trail. Whether you get there by foot, boat or a miraculous sprouting of wings, experiencing the elemental simplicity of Boat-in Camp is truly regenerative.

You can also hike in (approx 1 mile). Beautiful campsite right by the bay.

Awesome spot to camp if you can get the reservation. The Rubicon trail is quite close and is among the best hikes in Tahoe.
