Slice of paradise!
This place is great. The directions were perfect including the signs on the private road. The picture perfect cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. The River was amazing to float on in our float tubes. Tom showed us some great gold panning tips- he really has the gift of hospitality. There was a porta potty that is shared between the 2 cabins and it was immaculate with soap, water, and napkins. This is a wonderful place and I can’t wait to go back!
Pro tip (from my cabin neighbor Judy!) bring a 10 x 10 tent with a bug netting for cooking & eating outside. Tom was very diligent about placing some hornet traps near the cabin, but it’s camping - lesson learned for me.
Overall - wishing I had more days there.
This is the best place I’ve ever “camped”! VERY private and quiet. Only the sounds of nature everywhere! The river was absolutely beautiful and was the perfect temperature. We had our own little Sandy beach because the water was kinda low, and it was perfect! We brought floaties and stayed in the water all day. Such a perfect way to get away and relax. Tom came and checked on us every day, which was really nice because we were a little worried about the smoke that was in the air from a fire that ended up not being very close, thankfully. But Tom came and assured us that the fire was not a risk for us and even told us when the winds would blow it away and it would clear up. We didn’t encounter any scary wild animals except for the yellow jackets that would come in the morning and during sunset. There were a lot, but there was a trap for them and it seemed to work a little bit. Bring mosquito repellent though and an umbrella is a great thing to have for the intense sun. I’m in love with this place and I can’t wait to go back again and again!
Lovely cabin on the river!
We had a magical time staying here! Weather was hot, we spent all day and night outside; in the river, on our porch and late night stargazing. We brought food in coolers packed with ice and went into to town and popped into a few vintage shops and for more ice and water. As there is no electricity here, I highly recommend bringing a portable, battery operated fan for those hot, stuffy summer nights. The other cabin was empty on Saturday, pretty fun having the river spot all to ourselves! Would love to rent both cabins out with friends or family sometime.
This place is so quiet and peaceful! The cabin was beautiful and the river was completely private and incredible. Obviously hot hot hot in the summertime ~ would like to visit again in late May when it’s cooler but still warm enough to take a dip!
This is our second visit to Stone Cabins. We rented both cabins with another couple and it was a magical oasis on the river. The swimming hole is perfect--cool, deep, and oh so relaxing. We brought inner tubes and floated up and down the river. A spectacular and truly special place--one of my favorite destinations in the world now. Can't wait to go back again!
The most peaceful epic private spot ever. The cabins are beautiful, the river is gorgeous and sooooo perfect to swim. Tom came to greet us and share some history of the property. He’s a great host with a great heart filled smile. I will definitely be back!
