We had a great time at Quail Run Ranch where they are raising ostriches with love and intention. I took my teenage niece who had a great time. She even put her phone down for hours on end (amazing, hardly ever happens) because the place is engaging. We took a tour of the farm with the ranch owner, a wonderful 70-year-old man born on the property! He's a trained zoologist who knows tons about large birds. The ostriches were beautiful and we learned a whole new repsect for those powerful animals. At night we could hear their voices along with frogs in a nearby pond. We were the only guests there that night on a Satruday, so we had tables, a propane fire ring and BBQ all to ourselves. The ranch is about a 45 minute drive from Castaic Lake, so it's a great and affordable getaway from the City for families. you could take the kids swimming duringt he day, then drive up to camp through a gorgeous moutain road with forests and scenery. The ranch has a cute little rustic shop. Rustic is a great word for Quali Run Ranch, very homey, run by earthy people who love and appreciate the gifts of nature. It was perfect for us and I'm very grateful to have found this place. Highly recommended for people who love animals and nature.

We had a wonderful time at the Quail Run Ranch in Lake Hughes. The campsites they offer are huge and you can enjoy your stay with the ostriches and other animals they have in complete solitude and peace. It is a truly beautiful place if you enjoy the outdoors and nature. We will surely be back.
