Corona-We are leaning on and trusting our Base Camp campers to take precautions to stay safe and to use 6 feet distance which you should use your best judgement   We have 20 acres of land to spread out on.  We are asking each camper to clean the bathroom and shower area before and after as we would not be able to do this after each use.  Stay safe and be well!

                                              🙏🏻 PLEASE READ🙏🏻

If you are looking for man made and leveled flat campsites, then this is not your basecamp. I offer a very sacred, historical, gorgeous 20 acre space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry. This is in no way (except for the complimentary ice water, potty, shower,  shower soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen first aid and dishwashing area) a GLAMP destination. If you are truly a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, WELCOME!

If you don’t find joy in sleeping under a sky full of stars and the sounds of pines whispering as the breeze flows through the trees that were here hundreds of years before you and your iPad, please keep searching for a better fit.

The spots are designated to a large area (20 acres) and you can choose to find your secluded, or socially distanced spot. Again, please understand that this is not GLAMPING.

We are a base camp. this is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry, without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off in a public campsite filled with people and whatever amenities that entails.

Flat areas are all over if you can walk, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry.

The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. While at first glimpse, you’d tend to see just the vista and a large excavator area as two huge flattish areas, there are low ground sites and tucked off areas if you take a stroll and familiarize yourself with the property. I’m more than happy to point them out if you find yourself in a rush out here in the country  ✌🏻😉

Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away with fewer crowds. Downtown Groveland Is 10 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far. Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. Sonora has a great farmers market on Sunday and is a beautiful 40 min drive away.

A lovely place! Provides the bare essentials, but really all you need--drinking water, dish washing, an outdoor shower, and a toilet. We especially loved staying at the top of the hill with the view of the mountain ridge and the stars at night. (it did get dusty in the strong winds on our second night, so we had to move).
Fairly close to Yosemite (about ~45 min to hour drive depending on where in the part you're going), and also to Groveland, a cute town with a grocery store and lots of restaurants (recommend both the brewery and the Mexican place!) Great option for those who want to be in nature, but also close to amenities.

Jarrett was a great host, he made the sure we were well taken care of. To start off, he waited for us to arrive and guided us to the campground. Shower amenities were abundant and with a variety. Due to high fire risk, we were unable to use charcoal grills. Jarrett let us borrow a propane stove instead. Location was perfect, top of the hill is where I stayed and the view was perfect to star gaze. Definitely recommend staying.

Jarrett and Bo are fantastic hosts with a great property and amazing amenities. You cannot beat the location and the property has great spots to pitch a tent. The outdoor heated shower is the best! Would definitely stay here again.

Jarrett and Bo were great hosts! We thought we needed a bear canister and Jarrett offered is one of his to use during our stay (although the told us we were safe from bears). He walked it all the way up to us from his house! He had everything you needed including a shower, bathroom, and a place to wash our dishes. Both him and Bo were very friendly and made sure we were taken care of! The peace and quiet and views were amazing too!

The property was spacious with plenty of open grounds for setting up camp. Great star gazing and sunrises. The provided ice water and morning apples was much appreciated.

It was a great time with a great view! Jarrett was there to show us around the camp site and was very responsive with any questions I had. I brought my 1 year old lab mix rot and his dog got along great with him! Waking up to the sunrise was amazing. It was about 30-45 min to the entrance to Yosemite and only about 10 min away from a conscience store and gas station!

Great campsite to chill at before or after Yosemite. Much lower elevation and warmer than the park, camp shower absolutely worth it. Good market 10 mins away. Many private areas to camp in and great view from the top of the hill.
