Loved it here! It’s 2min to a small town and 20min to a bigger town. It’s clean and peaceful. I recommend bringing bug spray and taking your trash out every night as there is wildlife and ants. This is definitely glamping and we went the watering hole mentioned in another review, 10min away. Amazing time.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful and private cabin, the bathrooms were clean and close, and the owner of the ranch, Hamlet, was incredibly hospitable. We loved the town of Springville--it was small and charming, and the locals were friendly. We stopped by the restaurants for a cold drink and some air conditioning when it hit 95 degrees.

We arrived and were not greeted by the host, but instead by a young person working the wedding that was happening. Be aware, there are weddings on the property and they can get loud and go as late as 11:30pm (it is definitely a gorgeous place to have a wedding though!!). Likewise, there is a freeway through the trees as well that can be loud.

The river and swimming hole were not as pictured--the river was more of a trickling creek due to drought and the swimming hole was shallow and filled with algae. Don't plan to swim to keep cool, but do know you can ask for ice near the bathrooms. Also: bring some bug spray! The cabin was cozy but very buggy and we were glad we had our own as the one provided was empty.

Hamlet and his friends treated us to some amazingly tasty BBQ and showed us around the property. His genuine hospitality, along with the coziness and privacy of the cabin and the nice town nearby made it a trip worth taking!

Things I wish I knew beforehand!: They provide a small battery powered fan and a lantern. The cabin is much bigger than the pictures make it seem. Even though it gets hot, it's bearable.

... because I'm hoping it doesn't become so popular we can't book again!!

My husband and I spent six days and five nights on the ranch - and we came back different people in the BEST WAY EVER.

First off, Romi ... you are INCREDIBLE. Hostess with the mostest, so sincere, warm, kind, and hilarious. (Blue, it was a pleasure to meet you as well! Don't be so hard on your mom, she's not that bad. =))

The location is a tiny, (although it never felt it) electricity free cabin (although electricity is available in the barn, bathroom, and other common areas including the gazebo) situated on a ranch frequently used for weddings.

It's the definition of "glamping" as you have a running shower, restrooms, a fan, and an LED light available.

If you're used to hotel life - (you probably shouldn't be on this website, but) this isn't for you.

We spent five nights falling asleep to the sound of the creek & the property has hands down the best star gazing and bird watching I've ever seen.

We saw hummingbirds, woodpeckers, blue jays, 30 plus satellites, 18 shooting stars, the Milky Way (visible with the naked eye), one meteor (I had never seen one before but WOW was that cool), and one alien. (Not like the creature but a light that came down shined REALLY brightly (similar to a flashlight) and then disappeared upwards.

The property itself is very "instagrammable" with loads of photo opportunities, and environments. My favorite spot was underneath the big bridge at dusk where the bats would fly over and eat any mosquitos. Check out their instagram to see the shots for yourself.

My husband I knew we were stressed out, but after five nights, not only did the tension I had been experiencing for months escape my jaw, but he and I came back even closer than before with countless belly laughs over the board games we brought and on the last night (our actual anniversary) drunken karaoke outside the gazebo singing at the top of our lungs (we were alone on the property).

I can't speak highly enough about this listing.

Few things to note: In the morning, you may intermittently hear trucks from the fire going up and down the highway. Bring silicon ear plugs to fix that, or buy them at Giffords aka the market walking distance down the street.

Also, we loved this, but if you want to sleep in, make sure you bring an eye mask. The cabin gets bright early.

Go to Cowplunger for breakfast. Excellent food. And the hamburger stand for one of the best burgers I've ever had. Shout out to Verna!!

Make sure you take your trash out every day (there is a dumpster by the exit) and keep it inside your cabin. (We used little baggies.) There is a spot for recycling outside, but we made the mistake the second night of putting garbage in it and we had very aggressive scavenger like animals feasting. It's no big deal if you're used to nature (as there were also deer, possum, and skunks stopping by to say hello), but if you're not smart and do something stupid - animals will put you in your place. (I can't say I blame them.)

Due to the drought, the watering hole on the property was a little shallow. Instead we went to "Lower Coffee Camp" inside the Giant Sequoia national park. It's a left onto Highway 190 on the property and only a 5-10 minute drive away (on the right). The fee is $10 to access the watering holes (WELL WORTH IT) & if you want a private experience (like we had) park all the way to the right when you arrive and head down the paved road (walking) toward a single picnic table. Then to your left, you'll see a few boulders (small) climb down them and you'll see a secondary watering hole to the right of the "super popular one" with a shallow hole (that's what she said) and a strong current. We spent four hours in the water, and it sucked any bit of negativity out of me all while in this GORGEOUS, opulent, and private setting.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Also, check out Belch Park which is a right leaving the property onto Belch Park road. Hang another right (you'll see signs) for Bear Creek. Follow the road all the way up (about a half hour to forty minute drive) to see very large sequoias. There is also a hidden falls and other treats that we didn't have time for, but will do at our next trip to the ranch.

(FYI: You need to make sure both parks are open due to the fires and other weather related limitations. Google first.)

Happy hipcamping all!!

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and we had an awesome time! The host and the owner of the land was so friendly and welcoming! They even fed us BBQ! The cabin is secluded and you have privacy. Inside the cabin, there's a lantern, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and bug spray. The cabin is for 1 family, there was 3 of us. The bed is small only full size. If you are coming with other people, they can rent the space in front the cabin for $50/night or both of you can set up tents by the swimming hole. The location is great, you can see the sunrise and sunset! We also saw a deer in front of the cabin! It was awesome!

There's no wifi by the cabin, you have to go close to the restroom area. Only AT&T service works there so if you have something else, you wont have any signal at all (sometimes verizon does but not all the time). We had a portable radio so that was nice to use!

The stores are super close. There's a small market if you need anything, they even have meats! 2 mexican restaurants, gas station, gift shops, dog park, playground and 2 cafes. We love the Wild Oak cafe the most! Drinks are so good and their food too. Sit outside and enjoy the view, feed some birds and squirrels! You have to try their homemade ice cream (i love the fried peaches flavor)! It's the best!

The cabin was great, it's more spacious than the picture. We love the sound of the water flowing the most! We brought our butane stove for cooking and a portable toilet since the restrooms are a bit farther away. The restrooms were super clean and had everything you need including showers. The venue is huge because it used to be a horse ranch with lots of things to see, sit and walk around.

We couldnt really swim in the water because it has algae and looked dark so my 6yo son didnt want to to go in, but he played by the rocks and loved it. When we went, the air was brown due to the fires but it cleared up the next day. Because it's summer, it's a bit hot during the daytime but it was colder at night. It's probably best to go when it's cooler unless you dont mind the heat during the day. The road is close by so you could hear cars and helicopters bringing in supplies but with everything close, the cabin is pretty quiet.

The place is new (6months), so there's still lots of adjustments that can be done. Some suggestions we have is to put screens on the windows so the bugs doesnt come in when it's open and of course some fireplace for full camping experience. Right now due to fires in Cali, no open fires allowed. There's lots of space inside, I suggest putting a portable stove and cooking essentials so guests doesnt need to bring any, just butane or propane.

The patio needs a lock and the front door doesnt lock from the outside, they didnt give us a key. I would change the sofa at the back to a leather one so it's not dusty and easier to clean. It would also be helpful to have more solar lights in front and the back outside. You'll see other unfinished cabins around, they are still making more!

I would put up a sign by the entrance that "only campers are allowed" or something like that, because when we were heading back from our walk, a wedding guest was peeing by the tree close to our cabin, so not a pretty view to look at!

But overall, it was a great stay and we can't wait to go back again!

The whole place was creepy and falling apart. The windows didn’t close, so bugs were getting in anyway, the screen door was broken so we couldn’t leave the sliding door open, which then resulted in us cooking inside the cabin. Overall, the windows have a weird tint that creeps you out because you can kinda see out but not really. We left the next morning after we arrived, even though we were booked for 3days, 2nights.

Our staycation at River and mountains was very relaxing although the weather is a little bit warmer but who cares, there’s a nice bathroom we used and we stayed in a cozy cabin but they don’t have power but its okay. Overall I will recommend this hipcamp camping/glamping site to everyone. And we will definitely going back here. The host Remy and Randy(I don’t know if that’s the correct name of the couple) were very nice and accommodating. I feel like home. I love everything about the place, the wedding venue, the ponds, the river, the barn, courtyard etc. highly recommended to all happy campers and love the outdoor. 👍🏼👍🏼 2 thumbs up. Thank you Anna even If I didn’t have the chance to meet in person. Maybe next time.. we’ll see you.
