We are located just one hours drive from Clearwater BC, where you can enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and hiking of Wells Gray Provincial Park, and some of the best river rafting experiences leaving from Clearwater. This is an off grid paradise. Seriously relaxing and secluded. There is a river that runs through for cooling off after a full day of exploring, berry picking and maybe seeing some of the wildlife that abounds. Practice bear safety at all times. There are pit toilets, picnic tables and fire pits. No garbage service, so pack out what you pack in. Also, we are a working farm with livestock and a huge veggie garden. Seasonal produce and eggs (when our hens say so), are available to campers for purchase. Just half an hour drive in off the Highway. Road is a good logging road with no cross ditches and clear May till November for vehicles (depending on weather conditions maybe longer). Campsites are right on the Mad river. Or we have a private hillside location too! Enjoy peaceful quiet without cell service or wifi. Please note, this river is not suitable for tubing as there are log jambs and waterfalls down stream.

Wow, the authenticity, the generosity, the experience. All of it warrants 11/10 stars if it were possible. There isn't one bad thing to say about the Mad Fox Ranch & the owners.

We were greeted by the most beautiful and friendly huskies as we drove in. Sean & Sarah showed us around the property (in the rain), and made us feel at home right away. You can tell how much love and passion is going into this property. I cannot wait to come back and stay in the cabin.

Best,

Jeremy

The drive in alone is worth the trip. The PRIVATE river that flows through all the camp sites. Jenna can't help but smile while setting up the tent at the best camp site in the world.A hand built bridge... Wow

Thank you Sarah and Shawn. We had a such a wonderful time. The property is spectacular and so spacious. And its so peaceful and relaxing, but still had a lot of things to keep the kids entertained as well. They had a blast in the river catching frogs and toads or just floating around. We can't wait to go back again.

Really nice spot, unfortunately we couldn’t stay to enjoy it. Incredible lightning storm followed by heavy rains. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. We will try to return some day with hopes for better weather!

We can’t say enough good things about our stay with Sarah and Shawn. We ended up having the place to ourselves due to cancellations because smoke from fires. The smoke in their part of the valley was not to bad. We got to pick the site we wanted and we picked a big site right beside the river, it was a great view with a nice little river spot near the outhouse. The outhouse was clean and well cared for, it didn’t smell at all. We went to the canyon spot that had a deeper swimming hole and had a good swim. It was so beautiful and relaxing. We had our anniversary camping with them abs had mentioned it while talking with them. Sarah brought us some chocolate zucchini cake with a little sign that said happy anniversary. It was such an incredible touch to our experience and it really showed how great these hosts are. Hosts were more then accommodating offering any spot we wanted to hang out while on our trip. They even shared some garden veggies with us. We would highly recommend this campsite to anyone that like to do some incredible off grid camping. We will certainly be back as soon as we can. We had the best time.

Sarah and Shawn were excellent hosts! We were able to book a private river front campsite where we were able to let the dog run free and get a break from the heat in the river. Sarah and shawn have a small hobby farm with excellent eggs for purchase. The property is beautifully situated with panoramic mountian views. There was a nice walking path with raspberries ripe for picking along the way.
The road up is a bit rough but well worth it. In our old ('97) motorhome it look a while to get up but the drive itself is beautiful.
Excellent hosts and a beautiful sanctuary. Thank you so much Sarah and Shawn, we will certainly be returning when we have the opportunity!

Had the best time here! The site was lovely, 30ft from the river bed. Road coming in was bumpy but pretty good for a forest service road. Great directions. Handmade picnic table. Fabulous hosts! Sean and Sarah were so helpful, welcoming, and the most genuine hosts. Thank you for having us!

Sarah and Shawn were excellent hosts!

Our RV site was quiet, private, and right on the river. Pictures don't do their property justice. There was wonderful walking spots which took us along wild raspberry bushes (even picked a few!) We had our golden retriever who was able to run around and swim in the river providing a much needed escape for all of us from the city.
Be aware that the drive up from the highway can be bumpy in some places but our old motorhome (built in the 70s, and not maintained) was able to make it just fine!
We were so happy to find this hidden gem. I don't think we will be able to find another quite this wonderful!

Thank you Sarah and Shawn, we will certainly be back!!

This is one of the most amazing campground type accommodations at which we have stayed. First of all, the hosts are amazing! Friendly, welcoming, and incredibly generous; their camping grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The riverside space is huge and picturesque. We set up 2 tents and had room for our car with supplies and the picnic area to sit and watch stars. The bubbling Mad River next to us was peaceful and relaxing as a nighttime white noise and was hecka fun for bathing and wading. The children had a great time in the main house's backyard swimming hole with the little fishes, feeding the farm chickens, and paddling the canoe on the pond. The atmosphere of this campground was so chill and sweet, I had the best sleep of my life here. It felt refreshing, I could stay for weeks.
The location is beautifully tucked away, so be prepared for a bit of a bumpy drive but it is WORTH the journey. These folks and their campground are amazing.
