Vicky is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
We offer various camping accommodations, as well as a teepee. See our different listings for info on each. A few choice examples of local activities to do on or very near to our campsite include: Bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, stargazing, and even rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our location. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.  The cliff walls of the Verde River offer clear and distinct sedimentary layers, and the frequent flooding of the massive sandy riverbed reveals countless undiscovered treasures. We gladly welcome pets, including horses, as long as the guests inform us of their presence, and takes care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess. There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire. Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Ripparian Greenway and the Verde River. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.

Cluster of Trees (Site #4)
Verdant green valley
It’s a beautiful space near the river with a path to explore through the green cottonwoods. Horses behind the property make for a pleasant view. The space is clean, other campers are close but certainly not too close. Vicky was kind, welcoming, and answered every question I had in a timely manner. The town of Cottonwood is nearby and worth the visit.

Bathroom problems.
The porto-potties need changing! The rest was just fine. Nice trees. Unfortunately, we were next door to noisy neighbours.

Hidden Gem in Verde Valley
This place is sacred land. It’s a hidden gem for sure and the host is wonderful. I would definitely come back again. You can walk the land down to the river and see one of the monuments that was built by the Southern Sangua tribe in the early 1000’s AD. It’s really special here. I also saw a heron, deer, and some other wildlife while I was staying there. I just absolutely loved it. Thank you for having me.

Porta potties were a plus & my campsite was nearby. Ground was level, picnic table & a fire pit (too bad I didn’t have any fire wood. Just as well, bcuz it was super windy last night.

Beautiful Camping, Lovely Birds
Staying here was lovely! Stayed in late March so it was cold at night, but so many beautiful birds to wake up to in the morning being so close to the marsh. The directions were easy to follow and I found the place without a problem. Felt like a true campground, with a few other sites making fires and enjoying their stay. Everyone kept to themselves and was respectful and quiet. (Sites are also spaced out enough that talking or music from other sites wasn’t an issue at all.) Cottonwood is a really nice town, and a nice 25 min drive from Sedona hiking made for a peaceful, removed stay. Go check out Old Town Cottonwood, grab a craft beer at the Copper Jackalope, and visit Tuzigoot Natl Monument while you’re here to learn more about the area!
