If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
What a beautiful place, hosted by wonderful people, in one of the most stunning places in southern AZ. Situated on a 20 acre horse ranch and abutting 42,000 acres of public land, there are only 5 camp sites, all with power and water, with one easily accessible sewage dump. You can walk, ride bikes, horses or whatever out into the public lands right from your campsite. Sonoita is 4 miles down the road with several great restaurants, many wineries and a gas station. Our dogs were allowed to run loose with all the other camper’s dogs, and several other well behaved “locals,” which made for quite the scene. The vibe here is low key and quiet, and well respected by everyone there.
We will be back.
High desert heaven.
Rancho del Nido is paradise! Beautiful horse ranch with breathtaking views. Kim and Dan are so hospitable and friendly. Serene and peaceful. This was our 2nd trip and we can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!
We absolutely loved staying at Kim’s ranch! The hosts were very nice and accommodating and the views are magnificent. We kept extending our stay because we loved it so much. Will definitely be back again!
Hidden gem with amazing hosts!
So glad we found this gem! We feel like we are home, the hosts are so welcoming to my family! Quick communication, helpful with anything we need or questions as well as let my kids “help” with the horses! My kids visited and fed the horses almost daily. The kids were beyond thrilled when we bought them a horse riding session! The horse they rode was so tame that it even knew to go super slow when my 1 year old was on getting a ride (with my husband helping of course) 😊 They have spent extra time hanging out and welcoming us onto their property. Beautiful views, quiet area that makes you feel like you are in another world! Trust me, you won’t regret booking a stay here and you won’t want to leave! 😉❤️
Breathtaking views, horses, dogs
We were only able to stay a night but we SO wanted to stay longer! This was one of our favorite camping experiences six months into our full-time camping adventure in a 24-foot TT. Kim met us at the bottom of her driveway in an ATV and had us follow her to the campsites. She was really nice and made us feel welcome and at home. She offered us our choice of several sites with water and electricity, all with breathtaking views of the orchard and distant mountains. There was a vey clean outhouse for us to use if we wanted, which we did. There were two other sites occupied and these were people who chose to stay for much longer. We met one, an artist with a dog named Pablo and he and I chatted up a storm, since I,m also an artist. My wife and I enjoyed walking to the different stalls and enjoyed petting the horses, regretting we weren’t going to be there longer to go for a ride, which Kim offers. The morning sunrise, after a rare windy night, took our breath away. We’ll be back!
Fantastic camping; dog friendly
This place is amazing—two miles off the highway. Beautiful grassland with views of the mountains. When Kim and Dan say all are welcome, they really mean it: RVers, trailers, tents, kids, dogs, horses. We were a bit away from the RV sites, and stayed in our ients and it was perfect. Great access to water spigots. Clean port-a-potty. Place to recharge. devices if we needed it. So quiet! I plan to come back next year and may bring my dog. It’s dog heaven Herrero.
What a beautiful place to call home for a few days. We will for sure be back on our next big trip. Kim and Dan are so generous and kind, and we are sad to leave! The views are incredible and we enjoyed driving our Jeep around the blm land surrounding their property. The port-a-potty is super clean, for anyone wondering! Definitely a special place and worth staying at for as long as you can.
