We own 6 acres in high desert prairie land surrounded by the Petrified Forest National Park. Six designated spots to camp or RV on with plenty of space and a firepit. Big sky and panoramic views. You can hear the train whistles from the BNSF railway a few miles south of us. Free range cattle are also in the area, and might come wandering through. We’ve seen eagles, jackrabbits and pronghorn in the area as well.

You can see the Petrified Forest all around us and we are 16 miles to the main entrance of the National Park. We are 25 miles from Holbrook, AZ, which has a Safeway, gas stations, restaurants, and Route 66's only active movie theater, Roxy Theater. Even closer is Sun Valley, AZ, which has a convenience store.

Our family of 4 lives here full-time off grid. We will be here to answer any of your questions. There's plenty of privacy in this area, our nearest neighbors are a ways away. As Arizona has legal medical and recreational marijuana, we are a smoking and cannabis friendly property, just make sure to take care of your butts/waste, ashtrays aren't provided.

Contact us if you're interested in having large groups, parties, or events.

Jorge’s place is quiet and remote, but close to Petrified Forest. The land is level enough to sleep on and the yurt is very cool. The composting toilet is very usable. We had a great campfire and slept like champs. Jorge is very friendly and we would stay here again.

Great stop over for us and our motorhome (converted school bus) - follow Jorge's instructions and it's a breeze. Look for a small sign at the gps coordinates- we accidentally drove by and had to turn around. But Jorge answered right away and was super helpful.
We love supporting people following their dreams and you could really feel that at Rainbow Ranch. So quiet and peaceful and nostalgic chicken noises in the am - we felt right at home!

Rainbow Ranch provided camping near Petroglyphs National Park, where no camping exists! The setting is quiet, peaceful, well maintained. The bathroom tent was clean, smelled nice and was obviously cared for. The driveway is difficult to find, day or night. Obvious markings would be beneficial. The access road is rugged...NO TRAILERS! The owners were friendly. I would camp here again.

Jorge was such a wonderful host!! His place is the closest campsite you're going to find to the Petrified Forest and it's truly stunning - the sunsets are to die for! During our stay it became very, very windy and we had originally just brought our own tent for camping. Jorge and his wife were so kind and offered to let us move over to one of their permanent tents so that we didn't blow away/freeze. When we decided to cut our trip one day short after it started to snow, Jorge even gave us our money back for the night we didn't stay. Jorge's dogs are also adorable and friendly, and we LOVED how dog-friendly his place was!! We had 6 dogs of our own come along, so his place was perfect for us! Overall, 100/10 recommend!!

This place was perfect for our camping adventure! We booked same day and the family was super cute and helpful! First time using a composting toilet in a tent, pretty sweet setup. Thank you for the hospitality and firewood for our chilly winter camping!

What an unexpected delight!! Even though this campground is just a few miles off the I40 you can’t see or hear the traffic at all! Amazing starry skies and Jorge was an excellent host. We came just after it got dark and his directions were so easy to follow and he even met us at the dirt road with our firewood and guided us to our site. We stayed in our rooftop tent and we’re grateful for the compost toilet setup provided. Cold but beautiful night and we were even greeted by a herd of cows passing though in the morning. We will definitely be back! Five Stars!

Fire and food, what could be better! Our home for the night!
