Had a great stay here over Thanksgiving! The site was perfect, it was big and everything provided was in excellent condition. The large fire ring was perfect, it allowed for good size fires which was greatly needed since it was cold during our stay. The stars at night were amazing! The kids loved the hammock. James greeted us shortly after we arrived, and was an excellent host! The dirt road leading to the place was a bit rough but taken slow we were able to get our trailer there no problem. I would recommend this place.
Excellent campsite beautiful spot!
This spot is absolutely stunning. We came in in the dark and woke up to a desert wonderland. James and cara were super responsive and had everything you would need in a campsite. Highly recommend!
This was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon. It had a nice table, trash can and some water in a large, clean flat area. Not much shade was available, but there were some scruffy trees around. It was very quiet and we could just see some other RV's off in the distance. They have some solar lights that help to find the driveway at night. We had fun riding our bikes around the dirt trails surrounding the area. The stars each night were lovely. It took us about 30 minutes to get to the canyon each day. We also visited Williams, another 30 minutes away, one of the afternoons and got provisions etc. The hip camp is about 3 miles off the highway down a dirt road which we had to take very slowly with our travel trailer. We would definitely recommend this place.
Great place. worth the cost
The place was great. Well kept and away from other campers. Light pollution was low so the stars were very clear and spectacular.
James and Cara were great they greeted you at the campsite to ensure you had everything needed. They were very responsive to your text. They responded to my text within five mins or less.
They had a great fire pit with plenty of dead wood for you to gather. They had sand down with a rack shovel so, you could smooth the ground for your tent.
Great spot for peace and privacy.
Our stay was pure Hipcamp. We were alone other than for visits from James and Cara and their dogs, for “playtime “ with our two.
The campsite is primitive. There is a chemical toilet and we were given 55 gallons of potable water when we arrived. There is no well and that is the reality of life in that part of the desert. Water has to be trucked in and is precious.
We had to endure daytime high temps. around 98F but evenings were delightfully cool.
We can’t say enough good things about James and Cara’s hospitality.
Awesome site - awesome people!
James and Cara are amazing people. Their campsite was clean and very well stocked. They stopped by our site and sat with us and chatted a while - very nice night! They gave us tips and advice for visiting the canyon, which resulted in the best trip pictures we have. And they educated us on the history of the canyon. We met their babies, Bella, Jewels and Norman - cutest dogs ever.
We will definitely recommend this site to everyone.
Amazing, private desert campsite
This campsite is incredible! Only 20-30 minutes from the entrance to Grand Canyon, off Route 64. It’s very private and had terrific, clean amenities, including a fire pit, a hammock, drinking water, a picnic table, and a viewing tent with a screen. There is absolutely no light pollution, so the view of the stars may be literally the best I’ve seen. James was very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the area. He was able to recommend an incredible private trail in the Grand Canyon that made the trip extra special. We would absolutely come back here to stay again - if we didn’t have another destination we had to leave to, we would have extended our time.
Beautiful secluded dessert paradise
Great secluded location close to the canyon! Host was extremely nice, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable in regards to the canyon and surrounding area. Was able to provide the best places to go to and other important facts about the canyon. The sunsets where worth wild and made great pictures. They have a lovely set up with camp chairs provided, tent and picnic table inside a screened in room and a hammock all on site. This was a wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend it.
