If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The Round House worked great for us. It doesn’t have AC, and what dishes need washing happens in the bathroom, and stove is two burner hot plate, but WOW, it is a special spot in a very special place. Dana is awesome, the grounds are fabulous, and the night sky great. The place has an amazing history, and you get to be a part of its living history ! It is unforgettable!
Surprising desert oasis
Dana was a most attentive and respectful host. The entire facility offers many options for enjoyment of outdoor activities - or pensive moments of contemplation or reading. Near enough to Tucson to easily go in and back. We would definitely return.
Dana was an amazing host and super kind and giving. He shared some candies with me and some pizza and even asked me if I needed anything from town as he was leaving. I felt beyond safe on the land and super comfortable in the round house. It’s decorated amazingly and super cute. The one thing I had a problem with was that the bed and towels smelled like cigarettes... I’m not sure if it was from the wood stove or not. So that’s the one thing that made me feel not as clean or comfy. But all in all it was an amazing stay and Dana is a really sweet person! I highly recommend the desert sancuary
The Desert Sanctuary is a magical oasis. The seclusion and natural beauty are like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I stayed in the Round House, which I highly recommend! It featured a domed skylight, wood burning stove and fantastic view of the surrounding Rincón Mountains. Dana was a gracious host who made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. I will definitely be returning next time I’m in Arizona!
The host was fantastic! We got a flat tire somewhere just before the property and he helped out in changing out our spare. He was extremely friendly and the property was near perfect for our needs.
If you are looking for peaceful desert solitude on an interesting property, this is your spot! I stayed the night here between the Austin, TX and Ojai, CA portion of a recent road trip, and I would do it again... Dana is smart and nice, and the property itself has some cool history. Two thumbs up!
Great first stay!
I rented one of the cottages and loved it. A little warm the first night (July weather), but luckily the rain cooled things down the next night. Pool was beautiful and Dana is an excellent host! I felt safe, and even met a nice family at the pool (physically distanced). I highly recommend this place. Beautiful views and lots of options for any size group (dry camping, RVs and cottages). I’ll def be back!
