Located 1 mile from Sunset Crater, this campsite's location is perfect. The sites are large and each have a fire pit. The bathrooms are very clean with flush toilets. You can buy firewood on site and the forest is just beautiful. It was the quietest night sleep I have ever had at a campground. The hosts were terrific. We paid $24 for a tent site.

Camping at Bonito campground makes you feel as though your sleeping at the edge of the world. My tent sat on lava rocks right near the crater. With a great fire pit, my friend and I were able to make a delicious dinner and then take a walk on the fields of lava rock that encompass the campsite. Definitely a unique experience, Bonito campground should be tasted by all who are around the Flagstaff area.
