Pitch your tent on one of two locations. Each are separated by the house. Fire pits in place. The ground is soft and mostly level. The house is on stilts, so if restrooms are needed, then be prepared to walk a flight of stairs. Lots of birds, wood ducks, and other wildlife. Kayaking is king here. Lots of great fishing on-site and nearby depending on time of year.

Great place. Mark was a great host and let us get right down by the water. It was fairly quiet at the end of a dead end road, but there were still neighbors nearby. Was about as quiet as a standard state or national park campground, and the location was great. Very convenient to Dauphin Island and Mobile.
Great fishing spot
This is my second stay at Mark's. Everything was great. If you need a spot close to the Bay and easy access to fishing, this is a great spot. Also nice for birdwatching.
Perfect spot on dog river
Mark's place was awesome and he was a fantastic host. Nice flat camping spot and right next to the water. I paddled my kayak from Mark's down to the mouth of the Dog River and Mobile Bay. I spent 2 days fishing and caught a ton of fish. Also saw 2 bald eagles in the trees about 1/4 mile from the campsite. Couldn't have been a better trip.
Nice and quiet. Easy access to bathroom and shower. There was an open area to camp out on either side of the house with fireplaces. I chose the smaller of the 2 sides because all I needed was a place to park my f150, pitch my tent, and crash for 2 nights. Mark offered that I could use his grill and was accommodating. I spent most of my time outdoors away from the house, so for me it was a good place to crash while traveling through the Gulf Coast.
Even though we were not able to stay at Mark due to major inconvenience in our trip. The communication with Mark awesome. He was as flexible as he could be to try to accommodate out arrival
Papa grandson camping
Very pleased with our experience with Mark. Very welcoming and showed good Southern hospitality. Location was excellent for our trip of kayaking and motorcycle riding.
Really nice spot and generous, easy going host. Would definitely stay there again and the setting on the water is absolutely peaceful.
Nice that he offers a restroom too! :)
