Wonderful creekside getaway
Lovely creekside campsite for a couple, great site to bring a dog. PACK LIGHT! The trail in and out isn't too terribly long but it is very steep. Your morning hike out will be rough if you pack nore than a backpack style trip. Nice creek walk to two small waterfalls but the star of the show is the even easier creek walk down to the big waterfall with a small swimming hole. The water is cold and super refreshing.
We loved this campsite and would reccomend to anyone. Also highly recommend the guided stretching add on. Brenna has professional experience and it was a nice relaxing session under the trees.
Backpack in and enjoy!
This is such an amazing camping spot. It's secluded and peaceful. Our son loved playing in the brook and we loved how refreshing the water was for cooling off. The host friendly and had everything set up nicely when we arrived.
While we read the reviews and warning to pack lightly before going we didn't fully understand how intense of a hike in and out it would be to the camping spot. We had to really re-evaluate what we would need after first going down with the cooler and repack as little as possible on the second trip down. We really struggled to get our stuff back up the hill.
I fully recommend taking advantage of the tent, cots, water and other gear that's available.
We are definitely wanting to revisit this site in the future but will pack like a backpacker with only a backpack and a sleeping bag for each of us.
Wonderful site and location!
Such great hosts and a beautiful site and location! I only wish I could have stayed longer and I hope to come back again. It’s only 30 minutes from Huntsville and close to so many hikes. As others have stated, the short hike down to camp and back up is fairly strenuous since you’re carrying gear. I suggest packing as lightly as possible due to the trip down and back up. It is extremely private and even though the owners ask to meet you on arrival it was a short meet and greet and they are so friendly and personable and they do not bother you during your stay. Brenna was so sweet when I texted her to ask exactly how to find the waterfalls on the property and even offered to show us exactly how to find it. Unfortunately, we had to leave too soon and couldn’t make it to the falls (this time!). I really don’t have any negative to say about this site and highly recommend it to anyone as long as you are physically capable enough to make it down and back. It’s not a long hike but it’s steep and rocky, just be prepared and pack lighter than we did. They have a tent set up, a fire pit, some logs to sit on, and a little table also. You won’t need much.
We had a wonderful time! The hike down was steep as others have said, but it's such a beautiful walk. The tent is large with plenty of space to move around. Everything was set up so nicely! The actual campsite is very private, surrounded by trees, and the sound of nature lulls you to sleep. Brenna was an excellent host and made sure everything was perfect for us. Ive already recommended her site to friends!
Perfect for those who don’t own camping equipment. The large tent is already set up, and other camping items can be rented at very reasonable prices. The campsite is at the bottom of a trail that is probably around 500’ long. There is a small creek running beside the camp. The woods are beautiful. Peaceful privacy! Bring plenty of bug spray.
The most amazing site around!!
We absolutely loved our time here! The host was incredible and extremely polite. My advice is to pack lightly. They provide everything you’ll possibly need. All you need is your clothes, bedding, and a cooler. The hike back to your car is pretty steep but we just took breaks. It was a absolutely beautiful site and we truly enjoyed our time.
