The hidden gem of exploring the Teton area. Initially, we were disappointed and turned off by the crowds pushing to get one of the first-come-first-served spots in the National Park, even though we got an early start. I'm glad we continued driving. This spot still provided views of the peaks, but without the insane amount of other humans. It was quiet, peaceful, and we could set up tents in an open field away from everyone else. I also loved its proximity to Jackson Hole; we got to explore the quaint little town one day, and hike around Jenny Lake the next!

This has been our go-to campground since I was a kid. plenty of sites close together but not on top of each other. Flushing bathrooms, no showers. Walk down the road toward town and you usually see moose. Walk the other direction and seeing bison is guaranteed. awesome views.

An easy place to turn in after wandering around the Tetons all day. Favorite Gros Ventre (grow vaunt) memory—waking up to a young bull moose nosing his way through our campsite and delicately stepping over guylines. The bison herd is often hanging out nearby, and if you keep driving around behind Blacktail Butte there's a warm and slightly green thermal feature down the road (Kelly Warm Springs) that apparently also has a brain-eating parasite. Soak at your own risk. The old homestead cabin from the movie Shane is also nearby.

A large campground with level sites surrounded by tall cottonwood trees, Gros Ventre Campground is particularly nice on the fall when the cottonwoods turn yellow.

One of the attractions of the area is the abundant wildlife. One June I nearly hit a moose late at night about a mile from the campground. The next day there were two fledgling great horned owls in the campground that were just starting to take their first flights out of their nest. Bison and antelope are fairly common at Antelope Flats a few miles north.

This is a great campground that's close to Jackson and the park! Large campground, fairly quiet and a beautiful view of the Tetons (you have to catch the sunset)! I woke up to two bull moose in my campsite munching on grass, but they seemed friendly and kept to themselves when I finally ventured out of my tent.

This is our favorite place to stay in the Jackson Hole Area. The campground is large, and the sites are well spread out. Moose can sometimes be seen in the campground, and we have seen deer too. The Gros Ventre river borders one edge and is always pleasant.
