We came for a quick trip of fall color through Wisconsin. And Nadias spot was absolutely perfect. We were so busy traveling around, we didn’t get to spend much time enjoying the amazing view at our campsite. But we did get the chance in the mornings. The colors and rolling hills were absolutely perfect!
A beautiful farm campsite! There are friendly chickens and cute goats. Nadia was a great host, assuring we had everything we needed to have a great camp-out. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy Wisconsin farm camping experience. :)
It’s a beautiful farm. Chickens are very friendly. The direction is not so clear. Went into a neighbor’s farm at the beginning. But the interns from the farm kindly led me to the right place. Quiet, and was able to walk my dog peacefully along the street in the morning. Enjoyed it.
It was a very relaxing stay. I am always surprised how you can drive 40 minutes outside of Madison and be in a completely relaxed, rural environment. Love the sheep and chickens. Very friendly and helpful family!
Nadia and her family were so kind, helped us feel welcome, and gave us fresh produce to take home. 😁 A really peaceful area! The grass could have used a cut in the spots designated for campers.
Had a lovely time camping in rural Wisconsin! Tall cozy prairie grass made a great 'mattress' under our tent, our chicken neighbors were very cute, and the stars were breathtaking! Would definitely come back.
Unavoidable poop situation
Nadia and her family were very friendly. They generously offered us some of their homegrown vegetables, and let us use their private bathroom.
The reason I would not suggest this spot to a friend or ever return there myself is because the space they offered us was a recently used pasture ground for their sheep and space for their free range chickens to explore.
It was covered in poop. This is an unavoidable poop situation.
Sheep and chicken poop is simply everywhere in the space she offered us. I have to wash everything as soon as I get home, and can’t wait to take a shower. I feel strongly that this is a health hazard, based on the illnesses that you can get from feces, especially chicken poop. I was also not warned that my camping ground was covered in poop.
I couldn’t wait to leave.
