Blackwood Ridge Nature Park is situated on the Roebank property and as party of the first settlement in this area, both Roebank and the neighbouring Peninsula House have historical significance in Bridgetown. The Roebank Cottage was built in 1890 by the grand-daughter of John Septimus Roe who was a famous civil engineer contributing to the original town planning of Perth City and Roebourne. In the early days, Roebank was used for livestock grazing and had the largest shearing shed this side of Bridgetown used by the neighbouring farmers. Over the years the property has been used as a pear orchard, goat farm and other small farming activities. Today the property operates as a family hobby farm with short-stay accommodation along the river residences and nature park sites on the high points offering scenic views of the valley.

Tranquility with sheep
Such a peaceful and tranquil place with amazing views of rolling hills. Great place if you like feeling remote and being away from crowds. We were the only ones there besides some sheep so extremely quiet with the occasional baa baa! This is a rural property so there is a long drive on a dusty gravel road and there were quite a lot of large ants and sheep droppings.

Brothers Hill
One word to describe this place is WOW!!! From the moment you drive up to your site the views are just breathtaking. We stayed on site 1 at Brothers Hill and couldn’t have asked for a better site. Access with our 21ft Van was a breeze, signage and directions were spot on. Went for a beautiful long walk around the property which was amazing. The stone fire pit supplied on site was the perfect backdrop for what was just one of the best hipcamp we have ever been to. Sunset was amazing, sheep come for a visit. We will definitely be back for a visit and can’t recommend this place enough if you are after a private getaway with views that go on forever. Thanks Blackwood Ridge for a wonderful experience.

The location and views were lovely unfortunately the site itself was overgrown with weeds and double g prickles that were knee high in areas. There was no road or clear path to the site so it made it very hard to find a level spot for a caravan. Made walking around the property a bit hard as there was no clear footing. Not recommended for caravans but would be ok for a roof top camper or trailer camper if you took a wipper snipper 😂 The sheep were friendly. Didn’t see the host for the whole 3 days we were there. Could be a lovely spot and worth the money if a little bit of clearing or maintenance was done.
