Do not use Google maps or Siri GPS it is the wrong location and you WILL get lost if you do not use HipCamp issued instructions.  Public GPS for Willow Creek Retreat does not take you to our property, just to a field nearby.  I am not able to answer texts, calls or messages after 9 pm.

If you booked and arrived after 9 pm just come on in and make yourself at home.

If you are inviting day visitors to stop in for dinner or and afternoon to visit, please add $5 per person per day, listed under extras.

Willow Creek Retreat is a private country retreat situated on a 20 acre farmstead on the West Plains of Spokane County, conveniently located 5 minutes from the Spokane International Airport and I90 or SR 2. Willow Creek Retreat features plenty of trees and a year round creek, with wildflowers in abundance until early July. Boasting shaded camp sites near a babbling creek, bird songs and bird watching opportunities including blue heron, hawks, great horned owl, quail, ducks, turkeys, pheasants, and the creek chock full of frogs for the kids to catch and beautiful horses watch graze and gallop through the fields. You can even book a horse experience as an extra including grooming, riding and feeding treats.

Our guests love that we are off leash pet friendly as long as the pups are obedient.  Enjoy 5 acres to roam with your energetic canine companions, we encourage it!

Each evening, listen to the coyotes howl, the owls hoot, crickets chirp, roosters crow, turkey gobble, and frogs croak (in spring/early summer) and the gentle ambling of the occasional short train that crosses the track on the nearby spur.

Willow Creek Retreat is a great place for a camp reunion, families wanting to get their kids into nature, fall bird hunting or a romantic country get away.

*Please note that this is in a pasture, no driveway to sites so it is a bit bumpy approaching campsites in a motor home.  Also note that we can accommodate any size RV, however a bumper pull trailer over 32 feet is going to have trouble getting through the entrance turn.  Skill is needed for larger pull behind rigs to enter, we recommend no larger than 40 foot 5th wheels, diesel pushers and school buses which have no problem.

Willow creek retreat was delightfully quiet, in the country. The added feature, which I opted for, was to have 4 grazing horses in the area where we parked. My husband and i felt completely at peace. The camp site is not that hard to find PROVIDED you follow Rachael’s directions. I’d will ho there again if we plan a motorhome trip to that area.

My daughter and I had so much fun and easy to get to! She rode and fed a horse, we climbed trees, played outdoor games and enjoyed a campfire! Host was very friendly. Small setting, very quiet. Would highly recommend!

This camp was very difficult to find and I texted the owner multiple times as we were parked in her neighbor's drive and on the roadside before getting her help. Maps brought us to wrong address. One lousy little sign (maybe 4”x12”) off the road with no light does NOT suffice , especially at night.
What is written on hipcamp site does not correlate with what we got.
$50 plus tax for “deluxe site” in an ungroomed field (no road) with only electric, no water, or any other facilities such as garbage or real bathroom is too high a price. I think only campers who are desperate (like we were) should even consider this. I hope Rachael will do better and improve conditions or at least be honest about what she’s selling.

Response from RACHAEL, the Host, on October 14th, 2021

I am sorry you did not have an enjoyable experience like the rest of our guests. It is unusual for us to have dissatisfied guests as you can see from the rest of our reviews. Most guests expect a farm not an RV park, as we are not an RV park. However I will agree that a farm stay is NOT for everyone. I am sure you would have been happier at an RV park. Sounds like the RV parks nearby were all full. Our deluxe sites feature a picnic table and fire pit, the basic budget site does not. We do not recommend guests try and navigate in the dark to find our place, but many do find it just fine with the directions given on the app and e-mail. Apparently Apple Maps GPS does not work. Do not use Google maps or Siri GPS it is the wrong location and you WILL get lost if you do not use HipCamp issued instructions. Public GPS for Willow Creek Retreat does not take you to our property, just to a field nearby. We are often not available by phone late at night or during the dinner hour. I highly suggest that guests follow instructions provided instead of entering the address in GPS, this is a common problem in rural areas. In the private comments she did not like that I checked on them to make sure they were doing well 3 times during their 2 night stay. I live on the property and check on my guests a couple times a day. If you do not like to visit with the property owner while you are sitting outside, in this is NOT a place to come. If you expect RV park amenities this is NOT the place to come. We honestly disclose everything we have to offer and our limitations. Expectation management is important to us and part of why we have such high reviews.

Nice setting, could be a little more defined for the spaces, or maybe some planting between to provide some more privacy. Obviously quite popular, there were several guests throughout the weekend. Quiet setting, no traffic or airplane noise. Enjoyed our stay and it definitely beats using an RV park. Power plug was wired correctly and had good clean consistent power. I would stay here again when I'm in the area.

Response from RACHAEL, the Host, on September 3rd, 2021

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We are a farm, which is an open field environment. RV spaces are 50-60 feet apart which is more privacy and room than a typical RV park or public campground. Boondocking dispersed camping in the woods would defiantly be a much more secluded experience, but that is just not what our farm stay offers.

Driving into Spokane in 103-degree heat, we were relieved to find a shady spot under the trees, gentle breeze helping to cool things off, at Rachel's site. With 30 amp hookup, AC was also a relief. This is a peaceful setting in a pasture, with a sense of privacy and gentle calmness. Rachel came by to say hello, which we appreciated. Always nice to meet the host!

Rachaels place was most certainly an oasis after driving from Montana through Idaho and needing a place to stay. It was super handy from the highway but what greeted us was beyond our expectations. A beautiful wide-open field with trees, a creek, and wildflowers thoughtfully planted to enhance the experience. Horses grazed in the field across the creek, and our awesome RV site was waiting for us. The site was easy to drive on across the grass and level. The views were stunning, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset, and a full moon rise that night. You couldn’t make it up. Best of all, my dogs could run free in the field. Rachel came out to greet us and brought us some provisions that we had ordered prior to our arrival, what a bonus. Saved a trip to the supermarket. What was even better was being able to book a horse ride for the next morning, an experience I will never forget riding along side a beautiful state park on a really incredible horse. It made my trip. Peaceful, safe, relaxing.. We will definitely return when we are next in the area.
