20 acres hosted by Tom M.
East of the Cascade Ridge and west of the rolling plains of Eastern Washington, the Simcoe Mountains lie between Yakima and the Columbia River. This transitional zone features some of the Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar found on the western slopes of the Cascades, and also some of the Ponderosa Pine, Oak, and grasslands which are prevalent in Eastern Washington. Boasting more sunny days than the wetter west coast, the region is a favorite playground for campers, boaters, hikers and hunters, windsurfing, wine tasting, and wild horse watching.
