Awesome place to chill!
Very nice spot to enjoy the bay, and the wildlife in the area. Extremely quiet, and relaxing. Robin provided us with with some very good information about the area, and we will mostly likely return for another peaceful visit! Thanks for the awesome time.
Amazing in all weather!
We can not say enough about Robin and her place. It’s private and quiet. She welcomed us warmly with a print out of tides, things to do and general information about the area. We had one day of sun and one day of a storm with 50 mile an hour winds. The storm was amazing to watch tucked into our side of the property. Close to parks, hikes and Bellingham. For people with small children there is a playground just a few houses away. Bring boots or old shoes for low tide. This is by far one of the best places, and hosts, we have had while hip camping. We will be back often this fall and winter.
Our family of 4 had a great time staying here in our camper van. We enjoyed the gorgeous view. Kids loved the playground down a block. Robin was kind enough to give us advice on local trails. We’ll try to make it back next summer!!
A nice place to unwind
We really enjoyed our stay at Robin's. She came out to ensure we got set up & gave us a welcome packet that included tide times. You can launch your kayaks from the site at high tide & paddling the shoreline in either direction was nice. We saw nice sunsets & views of Mt. Baker from the boats. It is a tidal flat, so it can be a little fragrant at low tide. The site is level & gets some nice cool breezes & nice shade. It's within minutes of aome nice walks at Hovander Homestead, Birch Bay & Semiahpoo Spit. We also went over to Lummy Island on the ferry & hiked the Preserve Trails over there (one of them had a very nice viewpoint) & spent some time on the beach. We enjoyed our mornings & evenings at the site watching all the bird life & listening to the coyotes. The neighborhood is very quiet. There is a free & nicely kept dump station nearby at the Lummy Store & Truck Stop on Slater Rd. near I-5. They will come out & unlock the water spigot if you go in and ask. We had read there was one at the Casino on Slater, but we drove all around the lot & store there & didn't see it.
Wonderful location and beautiful views. We’ve recommended to friends and planned a return trip. It felt quite private because of how we were able to position our camper. Be aware you’ll need to back in, so I’d recommend getting in during daylight. Robin is friendly and helpful.
This was a perfect location for a weekend getaway, enough in nature but close enough to town, with power and water hookups which were appreciated! Robin was extremely cordial and helpful!! A great place we’re sure we’ll try out again when we’re in the area.
