We loved pacific dunes!
We loved staying at Pacific Dunes! Truth be told, we stayed here before the current owners acquired it and felt like it was a bit run down.
The new ownership has invested in the restrooms and accommodations and it’s now a much more pleasant experience.
The tents were nice. Beds clean and comfy with nice chairs to lounge in. The bathroom was nice - I liked that it was separated for tent campers though a little awkward at times because it is unisex - generally I’m ok with sharing a bathroom, but with a shower too it’s a little odd with strangers. I skipped taking a shower for a bit since there were two guys in there … once they were out, I had the place to myself though. The beach is nearby, but it is a walk. Overall, liked our stay and had a nice time.
Nice overall with several options
We loved the more private beach access area here. Gorgeous. Cute small bungalos. Not bad, but lacking extras for the cost. ( not enough kitchen utensils and too hard to cook with only one burner.) Loved the community outdoor game area. Doggy friendly. (Somewhat- they don't want your dog to bathe or go on couch or bed) We came during burn ban- if they had a gas grill, and there wasnt a burn ban, the glamping would have been nice. They were cool about switching us to a bungalo when I made a hissy about that.
I will say there was condensation in the windows. Not enough fans and air circulation. It got kinda stuffy. Also, something was up with the water, u cud taste either metallic or sumn n even smell it when brushing teeth... Not sure if its just how it is by the ocean
Overall a cool little getaway. We felt welcomed and comfortable
We arrived later in the afternoon on our twins’ birthday and allowed them to open their presents. They each received a scooter and proceeded to ride around in the grass before I noticed something glistening in the dirt, it was glass. My partner and I picked up glass for the next hour around where the fire pit was. We picked up at least three full handfuls of glass; some was half buried and the rest was on top of the ground. We advised the kids not to play outside without shoes and we were careful whenever they were outside the tent.
We were in echo and it was our first time glamping so we loved the setup. We peaked in the other tents and realized they weren’t all the same size. Ours was smaller and came with a smaller fireplace. Delta seemed the have the biggest fireplace and also a larger tent. Some of the tents have a larger table situation (I think it was Bravo).
The code to the bathroom is printed wrong in the resort books, so we asked a neighbor and they provided the correct code. The glamping bathroom is nice and clean.
Aside from the glass situation, our stay was pleasant.
We loved it! we'll be back!
My wife and I stayed for 2.5 days and truly loved the experience!
Things we loved:
-tent was clean and the bed was very comfortable/warm
-restrooms/showers were very clean
-very close/short walk to the beach for a great view
We didn't have any concerns or things we didn't like, but here are a couple of suggestions we thought of:
-a map or more obvious signs of tent numbers
Thank you Pacific Dunes Resort for a great weekend for us to get away, recharge our batteries, and get some much-needed fresh air away from city life! We will definitely be planning to return in the future! :)
I had a wonderful stay here with my dog, niece and sister. The place is big and clean and can't wait to experience it in warmer weather. There was a mild wind and rain storm one night, and we stayed warm and dry (with the wood burning stove going).
The tent was beautiful and clean. The bathrooms are new and sparkling. My first night it was so quiet and peaceful. The next night a big group came in and hung out with music playing - noise really travels there. Aside from that it was lovely and I will go back!
