***Winter is coming...

Nestled in Greenbank Washington on Whidbey Island. Our 15-acre farm is just starting out...

Seasonal fruit like Blackberries, Cherries, Apples, and Salmon Berries are in abundance between July-September. Lots of wildlife roam our open fields and wooded surroundings. Bald Eagles, Red Tail Hawks, and Barn Swallows fly overhead while Quail and their little babies run around the property. We are visited by many deer and the occasional coyote (they are afraid of us, so you don't have to worry about them hanging around).

We are a family with 3 kids, Grandma and a best friend living on the land, so you may see us working the field, building a structure, or just laying in the stargazing hammock circle. We have no problem giving you space or you can come hang out, we love meeting new people and have tons of tips about Whidbey. (Like, the blueberry stand in Freeland, Mutiny Bay Blues, is DELICIOUS. We can let you know if the stand is open and where it is or you can find them on Instagram.)

Fern Gully is 2 minutes from amazing sandwiches and cold Topo Chico (sparkling mineral water) or a bottle of wine at Greenbank Pantry.

It’s a 6-minute drive to South Whidbey State Park, where you'll find great hiking along the coast.

Just 5 minutes to Lagoon Point County Park where you can fish and watch for whales.

The always awesome, Greenbank Farm is 4 minutes up WA-525, there you can find Whidbey Pies, food, wine, cheese, art, and great hiking trails with fantastic views of the Puget Sound, as well as a large off-leash dog park.

Campsite #1 is located between one of our grazing pastures and the Alder woods. This campsite is an easy spot to pitch a tent and has enough parking for 2 cars. Enjoy the plethora of seasonal wild berries and watch the deer stroll through at this site.

Campsite #2 is hugging the edge of the towering Evergreen forest but is just enough outside of the tree line that you can enjoy the sun and look over the farmhouse and land. There are plenty of native Pie Berries and Salmon Berries during the early summer months and large blackberries later in the summer.

Campsite #3 is in a private and peaceful untouched forest setting. Rest among the moss and birds in over an acre of beautifully wooded land. The walk-in does have a small hill down and back up, but nothing intense. At this campsite, you are most likely to see Great Horned Owls or other forest-dwelling friends

Campsite #4 is very private and separated from sites 2 and 3 by forest and a gully. If you have a small car that doesn't handle a grass hill, you may want to park and hike up to your site. It's about 200 ft of an uphill hike to a flat forest at the top. This site is tucked into some gorgeous woods, back away from an overgrown pasture. This site is pretty far from the Porta-Potty, water spigot, and bathhouse (soaking tub)

Campsite #5 Welcome to the newest addition to Fern Gully! Car campers beware, there is about a 100-yard walk into this site, it's not a hard walk through but it is uneven ground. The site is very private and a bit further away from the Porta-Potty, water spigot, and bathhouse (soaking tub) than sites 1-3.

I would like to mention this farm believes Black Lives Matter, magic is real and we are LGBTQ+ allies.

Also, if you are looking for some, on-the-water fun check out Whidbey Island Boats and Boards at  Wibb .us (i can't write out the entire website, so just omit the space) You can rent kayaks or paddleboards. You pick the location and they deliver!

First ever camping trip and it was perfect. We took campsite #1 and we had the entire site to ourselves. We couldn't have asked for a better campsite to start our camping journey. It was picturesque and we can't wait to visit again.

Wow..we had an amazing stay at Fern Gully. Perfect pitch being pitch 5, a short walk into the woods (trolly provided- Thankyou). The peace and tranquility of this pitch was beautiful. We set up camp and did not want to leave to explore the island which we had come to do!
On arrival we were greeted and offered free firewood for our first night which was very kind. The amenities were perfect, hot showers/tub, water, loos, hammocks to look at the stars and bbq’s to be used if needed.
Thankyou Morgan and family we had a wonderful time 5 stars from us..👍

I was really excited to stay at Fern Gully based on the reviews. It was pretty easy to find out spot when we got there but ended up moving to another one since it was more accessible for car camping. Morgan was super nice about letting us move and we enjoyed our place in spot #4. I was disappointed in a few things. The bath house made it seem like it was a really relaxing place to take a bath and look out into the field but it looks nothing like it’s pictured. The bath house is closed up with fun picture mixed wood frames but it’s not open as it is advertised. And it’s basically intended just to be a shower that doesn’t drain well and really wasn’t clean. There were other issues with other areas of the place but let’s just say it’s not as it’s pictured and really not worth $53/night on the weekends. It felt like everything had just been given up on and wasn’t set up to accommodate guests.

A true gem of a HipCamp! My husband, pup, and I needed an impromptu escape from the city. Morgan was a kind and communicative host. A charming property with thoughtful touches, well-maintained paths and plenty of space for our pup to play.

Great location, close to our favorites Double Bluff Beach and Whidbey Bagel Factory (New Yorker-approved for my fellow bagel-snobs out there!). We stayed in site #1 and enjoyed being tucked along the forest's edge by the pasture. Plenty of lush, grassy space to set up our large tent.

Fave highlights: watching a HUGE, stunning grey owl hunt in the pasture by our tent at sunset, hanging in the hammock circle, getting our minds blown by the stars... very little light litter and my goodness, it was magical.

Thanks to Morgan and her lovely family for sharing their beautiful space with us!

Morgan was a delight and so easy to work with when I had questions!

The property is even more beautiful than the pictures. The campsites are spacious and a good distance from each other so it’s easy to feel super private.

The little bathhouse was absolutely adorable!

I will definitely consider booking here again. 10/10
