Welcome to Tranquil Acres where our backyard becomes yours. Located in the heart of the peninsula, we have transformed our five acres into four amazing campsites for everyone and anyone can enjoy and unwind.

Campsites are equipped with fire pits, flat areas for tents of any size, and room to roam. Don't have a tent? No Problem! Message me for more info on how you could turn your camping experience into a glamping one.

Throughout the property, there are many unique areas to venture and hang out, trails to explore, hammocks for midday naps and of course, fishing and swimming in the beautiful Big Quilcene River. We can always show off some of our favorite local spots to you as well if you are looking for adventures.

Pretty relaxed and easy, we hope you enjoy the simplicity of camping here in our peaceful paradise. If you have any questions, need more info or just want to see more of the property, please don't be afraid to send me a message.

SITE DESCRIPTION-

Depending on where you want to camp there are four possible campsites to choose from. Please note that all sites are equipped with a firepit and bug repelling tiki torches, as well, sites 1-3 have picnic tables.

Site 1- Our largest of the four, perfect for larger groups (please inquire about groups more than four so we can accommodate) and our most central campsite. Be closest to the slack line and horse shoes that are located in the field.

Site 2- Directly across from site 1, site 2 is also ready to host up to 4 people. Included are two hammocks for lounging on sunny days!

Site 3- Tucked in the trees and closest to our "poop hut" is site 3. A little bit smaller than our previous spots but still big enough to fit 2-3 people.

Site 4- Our personal favorite is site 4, best for a romantic weekend getaway for two!  Really wanting to shut out the rest of the world and be one with nature? Then you have found your campsite! After following a quick trail off the beaten path, you will find this site along side the river, making it not only our most secluded site, but also our only site on the water. With that being said, we DO NOT allow children under the age of 16 at site 4 due to the deep river waters.

All places offer an outstanding experience far from sounds of traffic and busy lives. Great place to see the stars and identify constellations with no light pollution. The night sounds are awesome, too.

Beautiful space; private and tranquil. Lots of nice hikes nearby. We loved watching the salmon in the river! Had to leave a bit early due to weather — we’ll definitely be back again in the future. ☺️

Loved this secluded basecamp for Olympic hiking and Puget Sound diving. Directions were easy to follow, and the road down to the campsites was no problem for our Subaru towing a teardrop trailer. Hosts stopped by to greet us and offer some local recommendations, and we saw a few fisherman on the Quilcene in the "common area" beyond the creek, but otherwise we had the entire place to ourselves. Our pup had a great time watching the salmon run and exploring the creek. Highly recommend for self-sufficient campers looking for solitude in a beautiful location.

Amazing spot to spend the night. We had a great time exploring the river bed and relaxing under the stars. Wish we could have stayed longer! We’ll be back for sure! Thanks for making our first Hipcamp experience epic!

We've stayed at Tranquil Acres at least 3 times now, and it has been wonderful every time. The sites are large and quite distant from each other, offering plenty of privacy from other campers. We've never even overheard fellow campers through the buffer of trees and river sounds.

The composting outhouse is always clean. It's divided in a way that #1 goes in one area, and #2 goes in another. It's a little tricky for kid butts- their legs are too short to be able to scoot back far enough to reach the #2 area, so we had ours do nature poops and then used dog bags. For adults and older kids though, it's quite a luxurious amenity. NOTE: don't put toilet paper in the toilet. It goes in a separate trash can.

The river is awesome- we swam, we discovered small crawfish, we climbed the logs around the river. So much fun.

Lastly, Shawn is an absolutely ideal host.

Close to town but feels like you're in the wilderness. Clean bathroom, quiet people. Quick walk to the river and star-gazing.
