Along the eastern edge of the Olympic National Forest, nestled on the bank of the Little Quilcene River is where you will find Cedar + Fern. This slice of heaven boasts multiple campsites in a park-like setting amongst PNW's forest giants, Western redcedar, Douglas-fir, Bigleaf Maple, etc.  While on the land let the sounds of the river wash away life's stress and enjoy a bit of the slow life.

During your stay, explore the trails throughout the towering forest to find private spots along the Little Quilcene River to take a dip. Check out all the new growth on the young fruit orchard and large food garden. Walk through the alder grove and discover both the thriving wetlands as well as the new farm extension!

Please note : We love to create!! That being said, we are always making updates and changes around the property. One of these renovations has removed the tent platforms for more space at each site and to better suit everyone's tent sizes. We have also added a sail above each picnic table for a bit of rain protection.

Site 1 - This very beautiful campsite sits below huge towering trees. It is a drive-up site and has ample level ground for tents, vehicles, campers, etc. The site comes with a fire pit, picnic table with a sun/rain sail and a hammock. Site 1 is the closest to the river, however all the sites are set back from the river. This site has it's own short trail to the river. Site 1 and Site 2 are within eye site from each other. They are both set up for privacy. Booking both Site 1 and 2 for larger groups works out great! This site ADA friendly however the path to the outhouse isn't so you are welcome to pack-in/pack-out your own camping portable toilet.

Site 2 - Fall asleep to the sound of the river amongst the huge PNW trees. Site 2 is a drive-up site and the easiest to back into - it works great for tents as well as vehicles up to 30' or car + trailer. The site comes with a fire pit, picnic table with a sun/rain sail and a hammock. Site 2 has an awesome tree swing which is a huge hit for all ages. The river is accessible via a few trails on the property. Site 1 and Site 2 are within eye site from each other. Site 3 - New renovation now open! This site sits perched over the hollow looking into the forest. This site is ideal for tent camping. It can host vehicle camping but please inquire with host to make sure your vehicle will work with this site.

Lovely wooded spot with thoughtful touches like sail shades, citronella candles and hammocks. Unobtrusive host. Very spacious sites.

What a lovely place. Wild and cozy. The owners make your welcome inviting. Little things like a shelter for the table, camp ring, either wood or propane depending on your desire and an easy access toilet. A nice walk to the little river where the dogs enjoyed the swim, it would be inviting to us on a hot day also! The washup station is a nice touch and we had plenty of warning to bring our own water and to carry out our trash/recycling. It is a bit spendy but we enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Tent camping at cedar and fern's was so relaxing. We stayed at site 3 and could hear the river in the distance and had just enough privacy from the other sites. The nearby hikes around the area are about 20 minutes away so this is a great spot to come back to after hiking. Our pups loved the area as well!

Jill was a fantastic host. She was extremely responsive through the booking process and met us when we arrived to walk us to our site. Our camp site was surprisingly large and private. The setup of each site, and the camp in general, is very thoughtful. There was a statewide burn-ban when we visited, but there are fire pits and picnic tables at each site, and the lower plots have sun shields and hammocks. We had so much fun exploring the woods and creek, and loved how calming the sound of the creek was from our site. We will definitely come back to this dreamy location.

I've stayed here twice this year and highly recommend it. Quiet and calm relaxation in spacious private sites. Short drive to FS 27 and great hiking trails: Mt Townsend, Lower Big Quilcine, Tunnel Creek.

We had an amazing weekend stay! Jill is a fabulous host, and very welcoming while still providing distance to enjoy the space. The hammock, in the trees, was a relaxing place to read a book. Each site has a nice fire pit, picnic table, and sun/rain sail. Many places aren’t set up as nicely, but she’s gone above and beyond to make a great oasis to relax. Lucy is the cutest dog, and welcomed entertainment. We can’t wait to go back next year!

Lots of space for our trailer & truck tent. Fun free swing for all ages!Very clean & not smelly outhouse.

Lovely camping spot. My guest and I really felt at home here, and if I’m in the area, I would definitely book again!
