OUR CAMPING EXPERIENCE -  We are located in a rural residential neighborhood,  but you'll enjoy more distance than a typical campsite.  One or more sites can be had on the large open lawn area that's easy for RV parking and tent camping, but we have limited to one booking per night currently.

In other photos we show tent use of the large lawn area where you may find camping more convenient. The entire grass area of approximately a half acre is available for your camping use on a first-set up, first-served basis.

Please enjoy but DO NOT TOUCH our kinetic wind sculpture by Andrew Carson.  Do not play or throw anything in vicinity of the metal and glass art.  Thank you!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION -- You're camping in one of the closest sites to Rialto Beach  and Olympic National Park.  Our land is part of a mixed use rural neighborhood immediately adjacent to the Clallam County River Park. While near the ever booked Mora campground,  we limit our campers and that means you will enjoy substantial land use compared to typical state park camp sites.

Rialto Beach is open.  There is no RV turnaround at Rialto Beach.  Consider biking from the campsite as sunset parking can be crowded.

Rialto sunsets are often world-class photography opportunities.  Many Rialto sunset videos and other regional attractions are incorporated into the Facebook page Twilight967 for local radio station  KBDB 96.7 FM.

Popular beach activities include firewood for campfires -- currently only allowed in a limited number of park picnic location fire pits.  Swimming is not recommended due to serious undertow.  However, strong swimmers with wet suits regularly surf strong waves until sunset.

The best beach hike goes up Rialto Beach to the Hole in The Wall outcropping.  This is best accomplished around low tides, so check the tables at the Mora campground ranger station. Dogs are allowed on leash north to Ellen Creek. Rialto Beach has summer season handicap access from the parking lot to a beach viewing site, and toilet facilities year-round.  The trailhead is the only access for 17 miles of roadless Pacific Coast trail until the Ranger Station at Lake Ozette.  Nearby Mora Campground has trailheads for the Slough and James Pond trails. Boat ramps are nearby just off the 110 Spur where the Sol Duc and Dicky Rivers meet the Quillayute.

On the way to LaPush, Third Beach trail is a 1-1/2 mile hike.  Parking is very limited and has recently been overcrowded.  On 6/28/2021 the Quileute Nation announced that La Push will reopen on July 12.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND SEASONAL NOTES

Owner is available by text, but offsite for the 2021 season.

We provide a regularly maintained porta potty for campers use only from May 3rd 2021 - through mid September.  The grounds are too wet to support the maintenance truck by mid September until May, so we close seasonally.   Off-season dry camping offers will be selectively considered and a sharply reduced rate.  Site is located a short walk to River Park Road and the Clallam County Park's vault toilet.   The private road off Richwine that allows pedestrian traffic to the park.

WI-FI and CELL SERVICE

Verizon Wireless provides LTE coverage to the location a speeds that are seasonally marginal. Other carriers phone and data services may be marginal to non-existent outside of Forks, so those subscribers are advised download our driving directions before leaving Forks, have a satellite GPS system, or paper map.

FIRE POLICY -    THE FIRE DISTRICT HAS ESTABLISHED BURN BAN.

DINING and COMMERCE

Three Rivers Resort on State Route 110 at Mora road at 2 miles away is the closest store with grocery provisions.  The general store has a selection of native jewelry and art for sale.  Basic provisions and select Post Office services are available at Lonesome Creek Store, however LA PUSH IS CLOSED LIKELY TO OUTSIDERS FOR AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE 2021 SEASON.   Forks is 20 minutes away with a variety of services, dining and provisions.

REGIONAL ATTRACTIONS

If you tire of the coast here, try a totally different coast at Ruby Beach 30 miles south.   Before that, you can take the Oil City Road several miles down the Hoe River to park at the mouth of the river to the Pacific.  Trail crosses a creek.  HOH RESERVATION MAY BE CLOSED AT THIS TIME.

Divert from 101 South via the Moclips Highway that goes to a funky beach town, and you can drive your vehicle onto a hard packed sand beach access from various points on the State Route 109 Hidden Coast.   Further south, Quinault Beach Resort and Casino in Ocean Shores is a full-service hotel, resort and casino on the beach.

Many regional attractions are incorporated into the Facebook page Twilight967 for local radio station  KBDB 96.7 FM.

To the east, Lake Crescent is on the 101 route to Forks, and the Spruce Rail Tunnel is a new attraction on the Olympic Discover Trail.  Port Angeles is a port city with daily ferry visitors from Victoria BC and a redeveloping downtown and waterfront.  Olympic Game Farm in Sequim is a great in-car photo safari experience.  Sequim is overrun with retirees from California.  Discovery Bay has a great nature preserve over the reclaimed marsh. The rail cars used to sell ice cream treats for kids and now house one of two Discovery Bay cannabis shops.  Port Townsend is the Jefferson County seat, and Astorian-age port of departure for the Alaska gold rush with older architecture of interest and an arts and culture hub.   Port Gamble is a company town of preserved historic significance.

To the Northeast,  State Route 113 north passes unmarked Beaver Falls and Beaver Lake, which is a popular fishing facility.    At State Route 112, go east the coastal villages of Clallam Bay and Seiku.   The Makah Nation and Neah Bay are expected to remain closed until October 1, 2021.

Alternatively, the Hoko-Ozette Road starts with a historic farm land, and takes you past several tree farms to a remote Lake Ozette.   Also accessed here are the Ozette ocean trails in Olympic National Park Land.   The Parks are generally open.

Cant beat the location and price. They keep a very nice moderate lot and fairly accommodating.

This campsite was perfect for our needs, a grassy spot for the tent, clean port-a-potty, and close proximity to Rialto beach.

The area is located between two houses and you are staying in this large grassy area next to the road. There isn't much privacy available since it's right on the road but the neighbors are super nice and the grass is well maintained. FYI people drive ridiculously fast on the road. The neighbors have chickens and dogs that they let run free so be prepared to wake up early to their morning call. The location was a great option for a last minute trip to the beach for some surfing.

No complaints from me! Definitely not super secluded, but privacy was not an issue for us. Roosters were nature’s alarm clock here. Great location.

This is a convenient campsite for exploring Rialto Beach and other beaches in the area. Take photos at sunset and be back at this camp in a matter of minutes. The porta-toilet was clean and didn’t stink.

The site is in a residential neighborhood, so there’s too much like get pollution to enjoy the stars, and someone appeared to be boondocking in the neighboring woods.
