Camp Cedar Creek was amazing! It was a perfectly cleared site with a large table, fire pit and it was on the creek. The distance between sites is perfect because it’s very private and quiet. You almost feel alone in the woods, but the road is right there so you still feel safe. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, cooking over the fire, sitting down by creek, enjoying wineries and local farm stands. My dog also enjoyed walking around the site and exploring (chasing leaves) in the water. Also David is very helpful providing a grate for over the fire, wood, and a list of activities in the area!
Camp Cedar Creek exceeded our expectations. Our campsite was private, it was beautiful, by the creek, and secluded. David was an excellent host, responded quickly and extremely friendly.
Some things to note: campsite are accessible by car, but may be muddy and have some bigger holes along the path. I was able to access the site with a Nissan Versa and a Prius but I imagine after a rain it might have been a little more difficult. But David was willing to load our stuff in his truck and drive it to the site if needed.
-We had very shoddy service, but most of the time no service with Verizon.
-GPS coordinates brought us right to the parking area of the site.
-The port-a-potty near the parking area that is very clean and well-maintained.
-There are bundles of wood on site for $7. Maybe a little pricey but we weren’t able to find anything cheaper in the area. And the wood from local stores are all wrapped in plastic.
Overall, amazing site, beautiful and peaceful. Great getaway from the city. We will definitely be coming back next year.
Second stay at camp cedar creek
We had such a great time last year that we had to come back. David is such a hospitable and accommodating host. Site #1 - right along the creek side is big flat area that was great for our 6 people, 3 tents, 4 dogs with plenty of room for corn hole and other activities. Will definitely be coming back!
An amazing experience
We LOVED this campsite. It truly felt like a slice of paradise. We stayed on site 2 and would choose that site again (we felt it was the best out of the bunch). Just note it's primitive for sure -- 4WD is best for getting through the campsite itself. David was a wonderful host. My kids are already asking when we can go back!
Great spot, helpful host
We had a great time at the beautiful creek property! It was secluded and our camp was right next to the creek so we could fall asleep to the sound of gentle rolling water. David was very helpful and gracious enough to let us change campsites to one that was closer to the creek. WOULD recommend this place!
We had a wonderful trip to Camp Cedar Creek. Our group of 7 had plenty of space at the site right along the creek. The creek is beautiful, secluded, and a great place to relax. The porta potty was very clean and convenient. David provided firewood (for purchase) and a huge grate for the fire, which was very helpful for cooking meals. I definitely recommend a camping trip at Cedar Creek.
Nice secluded spot
Stayed 2 nights at site #3. Alongside the creek, we could see another camp from ours but they were plenty distant. Rained all day and night on our second day there but we managed by stringing tarps from various trees to protect everything. Firewood is kinda steep -- $7 a small bundle, I believe we purchaced 7 of them. Overall a great place, David was an exceptional host.
This was our second time staying at Camp Cedar Creek. It was once again fantastic, and we hope to return again. The sites are large and spaced from each other so we felt like we were alone in the woods. The creek runs along all the sites - we felt like we had our own private creek to play in. And David is a responsive, friendly, and overall delightful host.
The perfect camp!!!!!
I can’t say enough about David and Cedar Creek Campground!!! If you are looking for a magical paradise to reconnect with nature this is it!!!!
David was warm and welcoming, making himself available while giving us our privacy. When we arrived he showed us back to camp, made sure we were set up with plenty of firewood and gave us a brochure with local places to eat (all mom and pop small businesses 😊) and some local hikes. He made sure we knew he was available if we needed anything!
The site(#2) was stunning, right along the crystal clear Cedar Creek. There was plenty of room to spread out and a perfect shady area for our tent.
We spent a week at the site and had a blast exploring the Creek. There was easy access to the Creek from the site and the water was perfect for swimmers of all ages! It offered shallow wading areas to splash around and explore as well as deeper sections to float in.
The ports potty was hands down the cleanest I have ever seen and was serviced several times while we were there.
The outdoor shower was a really fun experience, and one I highly recommend if you are visiting in the summer! (maybe a little chilly in the winter)
All in all this is a MOST DO!
