We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back! Steve was an incredible host and made us feel very welcome - we arrived a little late on a chilly night and had a fire waiting for us! We had a comfortable night of sleep and a relaxing day sitting in the hammocks and going on a canoe ride in the river. Perfect way to unwind from life, even if just for a night!
This was the cutest spot! Quiet, beautiful area in the mountains. Steve was a fantastic, friendly host. Small, simple yet well-designed cottage from a prime relaxing-in-nature getaway. Also, Woodstock has a cute little historic downtown. I'd love to go back!
Our days at the cabin were EXACTLY what we needed and the cabin was even better than we expected!
Steve was super welcoming and very helpful with stuff to do in the area and we knew he was just a call away if we needed anything! We enjoyed fires on the deck and waking up to the forest coming alive!
If you’re looking for a home base for all of the hikes around the area and don’t want to tent camp, this is the place! So many good hikes no further than roughly 30 minutes away!
Woodstock is close and has everything you could need during your stay!
Beautiful views, peaceful river
We had a lovely time at the Cottage. It was a chilly fall weekend, but we brought our double person sleeping bag, warm clothes, and a blanket and we were able to stay nice and toasty. Steve provided firewood and we had everything we needed (bathroom, cozy bed, interesting books on the shelf, etc). And the views were spectacular! We borrowed Steve's kayaks and went upriver a little ways and it was very peaceful. We also drove to Big Schloss and hiked to the peak (amazing views, and we recommend getting there early to find a parking spot if you go on the weekend!). Also went to Woodstock Brewhouse, which was great. We highly recommend!! Thanks, Steve!
A great base camp
Perfect cottage for a relaxing stay or a base camp for further flung adventures.
The cottage was just what we expected. A nice quiet retreat along the river and all the fresh air you could want. Nights were a brisk fall welcomed with cozy sweaters and warm gear and days were a breezy compliment perfect for hikes in the nearby National Forest or Park. Steve was an accommodating host, reachable when needed but removed enough to allow for a relaxing stay.
