This was our second camp at Island Bend. Spot is great, Mark was responsive and friendly and the birdlike delightful.
We loved the solitude, the creek and the birds. A magnificent camp site.
Mark dropping in with firewood was great too.
We had a fantastic week at Island Bend!
Despite the rain on the first day, it was such a beautiful place and so relaxing. The creek, trees, and blue stone buildings are gorgeous. We had so much space - we couldn't see or hear any other campsites or the farmhouse from where we camped. It felt like we were miles from anywhere, but were only 15 minutes to town for additional supplies!
Mark was a great host - always helpful and giving us ideas of places to visit, but never intrusive. He has a lot of knowledge of the area and its history.
There was plenty of space for camping (we had two families together and the kids chose to have tents further away). The fire pit was well used, as was the grill and cooking stand. Only some of us braved the creek in Autumn, but we will be back in warmer weather to do lots of swimming.
We will be back as we fell in love with Island Bend.

This was our first experience with Hipcamp, and Island Bend at Rodborough Vale for a week was awesome! We are a family of four (plus dog) who camped with another family. Island Bend is so peaceful. We didn't hear any other campers on the property. The space we had to ourselves was an enormous creekside grassy site with firepit (with grate and set-up to hang our camp oven). Loads of birds...even a couple of Wedge-tailed Eagles nesting. Sheep grazing in the paddock. Kids were free range on their bikes. Just brilliant!
Mark was very accommodating and friendly. Gave us lots of ideas for walks from the property, significant sites and other things to do. The supplied portaloo was also very much appreciated :-). Also, not far from town to get extra supplies.
We didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back...this is a new favourite for us. Highly recommend.
Many beautiful campsites along the creek and amazing old river red gums and birdlife. Highly recommend.
The views were amazing and Mark is a very friendly host. Will definitely be back.
Very relaxing, no other around felt totally in out own space in a beautiful spot.
Only stayed a night but can see why it gets so many great reviews. The site is perfectly set up right on the river bank - fire pit ready, lots of flat space and all very private. All the sites were booked and no idea where everyone else was. The sheep are around and the property is full of big beautiful trees and lots of gorgeous birds - its an awesome set up! Could easily have stayed longer - in fact, wish we could have!
The campsite was amazing. Beautiful spot for a group, quiet and right on the creek. Mark was a lovely guy and would definitely recommend to anyone.
Toilets far away but you can rent a portable to the campsite which is an awesome add on.
