Come and see the night sky away from light pollution. Listen to the creek, the birds, watch our herd of horses play!

Reconnect with nature on our beautiful 25 acre property in Silvan.

Plenty of firewood to gather - and a fire pit to enjoy.

We have open paddocks, majestic gums, autumn colours, birds galore and a small creek running through. Our property is an animal sanctuary. We do what we can to provide a home for beautiful creatures that may not otherwise have had the life that we think they deserve.  You can meet our friendly horses, goats, cows, and currently a very wee piglet, when we are around - otherwise they can entertain you through the fence.

Dogs are welcome if you can guarantee to keep them away from our farm animals

There is even room to bring your horse and use our arena if you arrange in advance.

Children our very welcome and time with our ponies can be arranged in advance.

We are in a wonderful position of being at the gateway of wine country! Less than 10 minutes drive from the the first estates.  We are also 10 minutes drive from the Dandenong Ranges, with all of its stunning bush walking and gardens, and 10 minutes drive from the Warburton Trail - a fantastic place to run, ride and cycle - very safe for bike riding with children with unusual cafes along the way.

What a wonderful weekend! Host Shaun was amazing!! Such a beautiful property and the loveliest of animals, horses, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, chickens. Our 6 year old had a fabulous time with the animals and Shaun was so obliging taking her morning and afternoon on the feed run! 10 stars is not enough and we will be back real soon! Sorry to miss Harriet who was away for the weekend but we will catch you next time for that pony ride 😁

Such a lovely place to stay! We loved the property and animals! Harriet was happy for us to walk around the farm on our own and pet the animals which was so fun for us and our 6 month old lab puppy. There was a bathroom and shower available as well as a microwave and fridge for us to use if we needed. We had a great time and hope to come back!

Such a wonderful place to stay and the kids loved it, especially meeting and then watching the ponies the whole time they were there. Harriet and her family are perfect hosts, showing us around and then leaving us to do our own thing. We’re looking forward to heading back.

Ferndale Farm is a beautiful oasis which is a blend of georgeous farm animals, a fern-lined creek and forest trees. Harriet met us at arrival and showed us around, introducing the animals on the farm (our favourites were the tiny pony and the pigs). Our campsite had a spot for a fire and a flat area to park our campervan. One of the best things for us were the animals. They were curious, friendly, and really well behaved. Having access to a toilet & shower was handy. This was a fantastic post-lockdown stay and we would like to come back with friends some time.

Harriet and her family are amazing hosts. There are so many farm animals, friendly dogs and wandering chickens at the property to keep you occupied. There is also a modern clean toilet and shower to use. What a great getaway close to home.

If you want a nice getaway with nice views, camp-fire and a menagerie of farm animals then this is the place.

There are a few options for campsites and we naturally chose the top of the hill. Have to leave your car at the bottom for this option. Others spots you don't. In picking our option you do get to look over the valley and camp out under the stars. This option is not for everyone, as you do have to go up and down a hill. If you do choose this option, you won't be disappointed.

Portaloo is your friend. There is a toilet and shower available, but you may not want to walk down and up the dark. Again, there are much closer options. We just chose to be a bit further away, because these types of places and views are what some folk, like us, are after.

We'd do it again in a heart beat. Awesome owners and awesome place to stay. :)
