This place is truly special, and Mike is great. The shack is very barebones, which was what I was expecting, but the fields are beautiful. At night I could hear barred owls calling across the woods. Mike is a delightful host—friendly, relaxed, and attentive. I'd absolutely stay here again.
Nice and quaint.
Beautiful rustic area. Chickens are abundant. Make sure to inquire about Stone baked pizza with all fresh homemade ingredients on Saturday nights. Many many beautiful vintage VW Vans to look at. One Step Up from camping in a tent the electricity was definitely a plus. Very nice state park across the. Authentic Scottish shop up the road with clothing and food including an abundance of sweets.
What a great little getaway! The farm is scenic and has a ton of character, and the cabin stayed nice and dry despite some relatively heavy rain while we were there. Mike made sure we had everything we needed while respecting our space. Be sure to take Mike up on the pizza if you are lucky enough to visit on one of the nights he fires up the wood-fired oven—such a treat! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.
Can't recommend highly enough!
The farm is breathtakingly gorgeous and Mike is a super-thoughtful host. The rolling hills, beautiful views, welcome wagon of fowl, sweet pup, and colorful wildflowers made us feel right at home. Everything was just as described and we slept like logs, despite the brilliant full moon lighting up everything like a spotlight. The lake is a short walk down the hill and makes for a nice morning jaunt - we had it all to ourselves!
My wife and daughter slep here at Shady Grove and we were next door in the west mtn primitive … my second time here at Timber Trail! Mike and family are super friendly and great hosts! Pizzas were amazing as well!
The cabin may be basic, but the beds are comfortable and the electricity is a nice bonus. The setting on a classic Vermont farm with lots of open fields and mountain views makes this a beautiful place to stay!
