(Dispersed site)
Our family LOVED our experience at 2 the Rescue Animal Sanctuary! Ilana is a lovely host who is passionate and compassionate for the animals she has rescued on this farm. The farm is immaculate and well maintained and there is a great common area that provides shade for everyone during the day thanks to a couple of big trees. Ilana encourages campers to help feed the animals and our daughter was in 7th heaven. ilana provides kids (and adults) an education on proper etiquette with approaching each animal...making sure the animals are comfortable 1st.
The farm has horses, steers, an alpaca, pigs, a tortoise, alot of chickens, ducks, pigeons, goats, donkeys, dogs and seems to grow/change all the time. There are two sinks for campers to use, a clean honey bucket toilet, and you can drive/park to camp sites. There is also a trailer available for glampers :)
This farm is only 5 min from town (yet on the farm it feels like miles from civilization) and if you don't feel like cooking you can drive into town and eat out (we found an awesome thai restaurant). The best place we've camped so far on hipcamping (and we've liked everywhere we've gone so far). We will be coming back!

Pinkys Bunkhouse Nature Hideout
in Birdsong Backcountry Retreat, CaliforniaBlissful weekend at pinkys
A relaxing and peaceful stay at Pinky's Bunkhouse. This was our 2nd time at this property (we had stayed at Tiny Bluebird before) and we love the serenity of the land and coziness of the homes. Pinky's is a good size home that can easily fit a family larger than our 3 inside. The full kitchen with fridge/freezer allowed us to go full glamping and bring some ice cream :) The jacuzzi and outdoor BBQ are great and as the evening cools down it is hard to get out of the jacuzzi. The hikes around the property are a must and if you bring kids we recommend the boulder trail. Our daughter loved climbing the boulders and helping add to or fix up the rock piles that mark the trail path along the boulders. She was so busy having fun that she didn't realize how far she hiked :) Laurie is a lovely host and responds immediately to all contact. Bring a book and play some board games...and disconnect for a couple of days....perfect.
Bluebird Tiny House
in Birdsong Backcountry Retreat, CaliforniaPerfect weekend getaway
The Bluebird house was magic! It has all the amenities of a hotel (hot tub, AC/heat, shower, fridge/freezer, comfy bed) as well as amenities of camping (bbq, hammock, pitch black night sky, nature). We loved the (therapy) trails & it was hot when we went so we did morning & sunset hikes. The spot is easy to find, feels safe, and everything is in great condition. We can’t wait to return as this place was a perfect spot to play board games, read, tell stories, quietly observe nature (we had 20+ quail eat and rut around one morning) and cook a meal together. Lovely place & hosts respond immediately to all messages. Thank you 🙏

Paraiso Pavo Real Site #1
in Paraiso Pavo Real (1), CaliforniaBeautiful star gazing in campo
Hosts were friendly & went out of their way to show my daughter their animals. It appeared all the animals are rescues & well cared for.
Our campsite (#1) was located on a wash that was ~1/8-1/4 mile from farm. It had great privacy as the whole wash was site 1. There is an oak that provides shade but we camped on the wask itself. We used the oak during day time as it gets hot & exposed on wash (bring shade if you gave it). We did this (camp on wash) as campfires were allowed on wash & star gazing was fantastic. I’d recommend site for people who like privacy &/or astronomy. The oak as well as wash has alot of ants (including red ants) so be mindful. You’ll also hear animals at night (in particular peacocks & dogs). We enjoyed our stay & my daughter already wants to come back again 👍🏼
Twisselman Pond
in Twisselman Ranch, CaliforniaSafe beautiful gem with a pond
We loved our stay at Twisselman pond. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and kept the campsite immaculate. Everything was clean & sanitized, covid signage was posted and followed, and the campsite are spaced far apart. The highlights were the pond...we caught one fish & enjoyed 100’s of birds making a pitstop at the pond each evening. We also ordered chuck eye steaks directly from hosts that were dropped off for dinner (sooo good). Bathroom & shower were in great shape & well stocked with soap, sanitizer, TP. We tent camped & recommend bringing shade as the site is on a hill & gets exposed sun. The glamping sites looked epic & we would stay there when we return. Much gratitude to the hosts for sharing this gem.
