Turtle Ranch is a developing youth science center dedicated to wildlife and conservation. Our main attraction is two 180 lb tortoises, but there is a plethora of animals, wild and domestic. We feed whitetail year round, and the feeders also attract javelina, hogs, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, armadillos, rodents and snakes. We maintain a variety of livestock and can short term board horses.

Pond levels vary according to season, but our catch and release fish include catfish, smallmouth bass, alligator gar, perch and carp. The pond is a breeding area for red-eared slider turtles and a variety of non-venomous water snakes. On summer nights, the croaking and singing of the frogs is a noisy symphony. The pond also attracts cranes, a variety of ducks and other birds.

For bird watchers, the predominant species are roadrunners, dove, quail and blackbirds. There is a large cardinal population, woodpeckers and a wide variety of songbirds. The region also hosts green jays, hawks, owls and bald eagles. We have elevated stands throughout the property.

The property is thickly vegetated with mesquite trees, prickly pear cactus and other treacherous plants. All activities here-- including pond swimming-- are primitive, and risks are assumed by the adventurer. The homestead area is generally safe for littles, save the occasional rattlesnake. BBQ areas are provided, with mesquite wood, but campers must bring lighters, fluid, cooking pans, etc. All fires must be in approved areas.

For the kids, we have an RC car race track. RC cars and boats not yet provided.

Eagle Pass boasts the largest Texas Casino, hosted by the native Kickapoos. It's about a 20 minute drive. The reservation includes a number of other amenities, like clubs, restaurants, hotels and stores. Eagle Pass has 2 large grocery stores and several retail outlets.

10 Point Turtle Ranch was a wonderful place to stay and many things to do. Go and stay instead of those other boring RV spots and enjoy the wonderful country.

absolutely incredible people & hosts with amazing kids
theresa & orlando have created a wildly fun, informative, and out of the ordinary environment for guests to enjoy on a spacious ranch

there’s catch/release fishing, hiking trails, shooting range, and plenty of animals to engage with— my favorite being giant turtles you can feed— as well as other activities

all the amenities are there. private bathroom/shower, cold a/c, cable in a spacious apartment
will definitely be staying again soon
