Welcome to the 10-acre Simply Wyldwood Homestead and Mindful Retreat Space.  The property consists of a food forest, yoga movement space (My Yoga Barn), and nature trails through the Post Oak Savannah landscape. I have some lovely space ready for your tent.  The Barn is a public space for this listing but you can also book the Barn to "camp" giving you private access.  We also have a Glamping tent option as well.

During your stay, you are invited to relax or roll out your mat for yoga on the shaded deck or sun deck, in the Yoga Barn in the AC, and book a private Yoga/Meditation class or Mindful Forest Bathing Experience from your host who is an instructor in both. Enjoy strolling through the trails on the property and tour the food gardens saying Hi to the chickens at the Hen Den on the way. There is a full bath in the Barn and a private hot/cold outdoor shower to use to cool off during the day and has a lovely view of the stars overhead at night.

There is outdoor seating on the deck of the Yoga Barn along with a ping-pong table and gas grill. You can add on Radiant Mama's Juice Bar 24-72 hour juice cleanse so you can detox or so you don't have to pack any food (with 72 hour notice on order).  You can also bring your own food, order out for delivery for a nice Italian dinner from our neighboring Leo's Italian Restaurant, or visit The Texas Roadstand, MaCoco, and the Hyatt.

We are 5 minutes from McKinney Roughs Nature Center, Zip Lost Pines, Hyatt Lost Pines, and The Labyrinth at Bastrop Botanical Gardens. A short 10 minute trip to Bastrop for shopping, river activities, and Bastrop State Park.

*****Things to know about visiting rural Texas:*****

You are visiting a working homestead/farm in rural Bastrop County.  If you live in the city you may not have experience with some of the country sounds.  Some of the things you may occasionally hear are; roosters, native wildlife, and domestic wildlife.  Gunfire IS NOT allowed on the property but safe shooting is legal in Texas in certain areas under certain circumstances.  Because you are visiting a rural Texas community you may hear the occasional gunshot from another property.

Rebecca was so welcoming and accommodating, we benefited from her great recommendations based on our interests. She gave us several options for camping and helped us carry our things to our location. So grateful for the cart she let us use to bring our things from the car to the camping spot! It was also a treat to be able to use the yoga barn. We were able to get back into our bodies with a much needed practice after traveling. The bathroom was so clean and great to have available for our use. The only challenge was that it was a bit noisy at night from neighbors and animals but if you are a good sleeper or used to that it’s not a problem! Rebecca checked in with us and even said we could sleep in the yoga barn if needed. Highly recommend this camping spot and host!

Rebecca, her husband and their dog were excellent hosts and very welcoming!
Since we were the only guests we were able to choose from 3 different campsites and chose a more private one in the forrest. Apart from the forest, the property has a beautiful garden area, fire pit and the yoga barn with the bathroom and a lovely warm water outdoor shower.
Sidenote for the light sleepers (like me): I would recommend bringing earplugs to help with potential noise from neigbhouring properties at night.

This site is so peaceful. The forest trails are shady and beautiful. There are so many birds! I was resting the hommock and literally saw more different kinds of birds in one place than I’ve ever seen before.
The barn and the outside shower are beautiful and a very welcome rest between more rustic campsites.

The sunset view from the hammock!Excellent clouds! I saw a coyote walk past this big window in the night. But all the doors were closed obviously so I felt safe and privileged to observe it. Big air conditioned barn w great WiFi.

What a lovely and beautiful little treasure close enough to town but also just far enough away to escape the everyday grind. I loved the intentional food forest. So much love goes into this land. I will be back!

A beautiful change of pace, just a short distance from the city. The meticulous kept food forest is a real treat. I had a wonderful time out among nature. Rebecca is a gracious host; thank you for the tomato plants!

Beautiful space, lovely garden, plenty of room to spread out but enough trees to give privacy. The paths are well worn in and easy to navigate if you get confused. They’ve put rocks in the parking area and wood chips on most of the paths so getting around is no trouble at all. The outdoor shower was especially nice when I needed to cool off. Rebecca gave me plenty of space and was quick to reply when I glad any questions. Her meditation class was relaxing and just what I needed to clear my mind.

Simply Wyldwood was fantastic! Rebecca was sure to show us each part of the forest, provided us with firewood, and even walked us through her forest garden. A beautiful space and a great experience!

I booked with Rebecca pretty last minute, she was quick to reply to my request, and great with communication. Her directions were clear, and she met us to show us around before we set up camp. Rebecca has a beautiful homestead including chickens, gardens, a gorgeous firepit with lots of seating, trails, many serene spaces.
We were fortunate enough to score a couple dozen eggs from the generous hens.

The shower/ restroom is modern and clean,
I wish we had used the outdoor shower before we left though!

The only thing I would change is I wish we were there to see the hundreds of sunflowers when they come to bloom, and wish we had a couple more days to camp.
