Sandy Bottoms Primitive Tent Camp
A wonderful campground
We got our pick of campsites it was very quiet place. We were very close to the bathroom, water spigot and walking distance to river. Very nice all around. John the caretaker was one of the nicest people. Mary were topnotch checked on us several times a day to make sure we were good, offered us a place to move our camp because of storms. John kept us in firewood (20 dollars is the way to go) we couldn't have asked for a better hosts. We will definitely be going back.

Site 5 - Sandy Bottoms River Camp
Lovely
It's private, there's a nice river, everything is very green and it's amazing. We only stayed for a night, but it was one of the best places I've been camping and it was in a backyard!! What's great about this site was that the property was covered by a line of trees and brush that you can't see through so it allows for privacy too! We didn't bring any bug spray and they were so kind and let us borrow theirs. 10/10 would go again!!

Sandy Bottoms Primitive Tent Camp
So-so
Scenery was beautiful for the 2024 eclipse. BUT, the website states a tent site is big enough for 8 people and does not say one tent only. Communication with the host was difficult as they don't answer the phone. After 3 attempts to get instructions, I was contacted back and told I needed to pay for an additional tent. I was also told the Porta pottie trash would be emptied daily because no tissue was allowed to be flushed, but was not until the afternoon we left. Pretty gross. Pretty much like camping in someone's back yard with a lot of people walking thru your site.

Absolutely loved camping here! We unfortunately had to leave a day early due to storms coming through but this little spot quickly has become a favorite. They offer all day kayaking and it truly was the cherry on top of this perfect camping sundae.
