Our Heritage and Legacy is a beautiful shaded lawn under a canopy of old oaks that are a few hundred years old and pecan trees. There is a huge privacy wall of bamboo that gives you a sense of absolute privacy, with a cliff on the opposing side to encase you and your loved ones in this majestic retreat. There is also a pull up/ hook up area for travel trailers and smaller rv's with a 20 amp plug in and a 50 amp plug in. This is on a gorgeous area on the deepest swimming hole of the Blanco River in Wimberley, Texas! OH, and the entire Blanco River in Wimberley is private! There is no river accessible camping available to the public, anywhere in Wimberley! Has two beautiful docks on the water: one is perfect for morning coffee, wine sipping, fishing, meditating, yoga, with an adjacent access ladder and steps to get in and out of the water, the other has a large bench, steps to the water for entering with water toys, etc, and a rope swing! This property includes a cliff to climb with ropes installed and amazing views of the Blanco river valley east and west from the top! 1 kayak is available for your use with reservation with no rental fees. Additional water toys are available for rent and use as desired/needed(the reservations for such need to be made in advance/or at time of check in, to have available for your use) : 3 additional kayaks($35/day), 4 tubes($6/day), a SUP ($35/day), along with two other beanbag type chair floats($8/day)-. You may either rent through Hipcamp, in advance, or on site at check in. There are electrical hookups for rv's/travel trailers (one 20 amp and one 50 amp)- however, all campers whether tent, RV's/Travel trailers will need to bring in your own water supply for your general use, please. (The property is on a rain water collection/purification system, and has very limited water for the overall property use-to have water trucked in to refill the tank is quite expensive. Campers may NOT use the water supply connected to the house- please respect.) There are two cliff goats, Lois and Clark, who love to come visit and snuggle as they travel the cliff and the river road, daily. There is nothing they love more than to be hand fed and they are both incredibly tame! You will have absolute privacy on these 3 acres, with no neighbors, beyond those folks who live across the river on their large pieces of land! The rate is $220/night for up to 4 campers, and each additional camper beyond, $25/pp. This property is not appropriate for children under 12 because of safety concerns with the cliff, the river and the road bisecting the property that leads to the river. No children under 12 allowed. I am quite firm about this, and I apologize in advance. What makes it an amazing property, a destination for camping and exploring, also makes it a safety risk for younger children. There is an antique fireplace that is from the origins of the property over a century ago on the large outdoor patio and a huge fire pit on the cliff top. Bundles of wood are available to purchase at $8 each. Please DO NOT help yourself to our wood piles, we had to pay someone to cut and stack it all- it is not free. We are happy to stock each firepit area with bundles of wood, per your request. You may also purchase a fire starter stick for $5/each. (I did previously supply those, but they kept walking off at the end of each groups stay- thank you for understanding). There is also a full size refrigerator and freezer available for your use during your stay. The overall vibe is absolute peace, serenity, calm, and relaxation. In the evenings, if you are calm, still and quiet- foxes, and raccoons shall run all around your area, and the foxes are known to eat from your hands. It is simply the best of nature, being there! The famous Blue Hole and Jacobs Well swimming holes along with their respective hiking trails and parks are minutes away, along with the highly regarded Wimberley Zipline being just 5 minutes down the road, too! DO note, to swim at Jacob's Well, Blue Hole or partake in the Zipline experience requires advance online reservations. (there is a secret to getting into the Jacob's Well if you were not able to get reservations, make sure to ask me about, if interested! it has previously always worked for me!) To hike the trails in either the Jacobs Well County Park, Mount Baldy, or The Blue Hole Regional park does not require reservations! Have I mentioned the famous Wimberley Glass Works- just a 15 minute drive away! Bring your lawn games, your corn hole, and relax on the sprawling lush zoysia lawn under the evening twinkling lights strung from the oak trees that are hundreds of years old. The best restaurants are 4-10 minutes away and many wineries, breweries, and distilleries around are also nearby within the community and surrounding area- even though we are still dealing with the Covid, all restaurants are now open to varying capacities with 'to go' options, and also outdoor seating options. Wimberley is a destination tourist town and a culinary journey with fantastic shopping, too!! Fantastic bonus to add to a gorgeous location to enjoy in your little slice of heaven, peace and privacy. Least we not forget, Market Days! The first Saturday of each month, March through December is the famous Market Days. Vendors from all over the state and US come to sell their wares. Over 500 booths!

We had an amazing and relaxing weekend camping at “Our Heritage and Legacy”. The property is nestled under a serine canopy with gorgeous views. After bird and wildlife watching each morning, we spent our day floating in the perfect Blanco River swimming hole. On each evening a short climb to the hilltop oasis provided a spectacular setting to watch the moon rise and admire the stars. Sara was an exceptional hostess and we are looking forward to our next stay!
Great place right on the river!
Sara's property was a great place to spend my birthday camping with a few friends for the weekend! The property is beautifully maintained and Sara is very helpful and friendly. The Blanco River is spectacular and the property has incredible access. Two things to point out: unfortunately there is no camping on the lawn but we made do in some gravel areas on the perimeter. Sara was upfront about this so we knew this fact in advance. The bathroom situation is very primitive but we were fortunate to have our own trailer to use. We would definitely stay again!
We stayed in the middle of summer with two teenage boys and two dogs, and had a fantastic time.
The property is beautiful and just as we expected from the photos. The house is set back about 50 yards from the river. You walk down the short drive and cross the small road to get to the river bank. (The photo of the river bank showing the decks is taken from the road). We swam, paddled, fished, and hung out on the patio in the evening. A perfect getaway.
Sara met us at the property when we checked in and made sure we had everything we needed.
We'll go back again next summer.
Our family stayed at Sara's property. While it is a lovely property, with a magnificent view, it was not what we expected or were promised. First, Sara said the lawn was damaged from all the campers and asked us to camp on a very small section of it right next to the driveway. We opted to camp on the patio to preserve the lawn.
HipCamp gave us a $40 credit for our troubles.
Without these challenges, I could see this being a very nice place to camp. But we wouldn't stay there again.
Our experience was beyond our expectations! Beautiful spot on the river, middle of July, and the water was deep and cool! My kids loved the rope swing and I enjoyed a relaxing float! Perfect spot to relax without fear of crowds during Covid. The place was sanitized before we arrived (which made us feel comfortable). Sara made sure we had what we needed throughout our stay. We found a hidden gem and would definitely go back!
This is a fantastic site and Sara was a very accommodating host. The area is quiet and secluded. Location is a short walk to private access to the river. There are restaurants and grocery options within minutes of the location. Would stay here again.
Blanco river gem!
Beautiful private spot on the Blanco River. Close to the tiny town of Wimberly, but still feels secluded and special. If you're looking for a rustic, primative, "glamping" experience, then this is it. The toilet situation is not for the inexperienced or people easily grossed out by the human condition. But it is descibed very accurately in the listing so don't be surprised! We would definitely return and highly recommend this place to others. A magical little slice of the Texas Hill Country.
We had a wonderful time at Our heritage and legacy! Sara and her husband have created a space that is fun, beautiful, relaxing, and a great escape to the hill county. You can tell they love the space by how well they upkeep the property. We would definitely return!
