Places to see near Jen’s Camp
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Amazing place so rustic. If you need to get out of the city this is the place to go. You will not run out of activities here hiking, wine tasting, and exploring the local town are all 10 minutes away.
Bigtexas! book now! you wont regret
Wow Jen hospitality is the absolute epitome of what the south is all about. There are so many hidden gems in this place that I don’t want to ruin the surprises for you. you have got to see for yourself! You won’t regret it.
Peaceful, secluded, and cozy
Perfect setup. Even though it is near house, it is still very secluded and blocked by trees. Cast iron pan, utensils for cooking, nice equipment for grilling, temp in cabin stayed cool. There is a hose and sink for water. Toaster oven, hot plates for indoor cooking, pans. Comfy and cozy bed/couch. You can see stars at night. Clear skies. Would highly recommend.
Very special hill country getaway
Words can’t describe just how amazing our stay was. The cabin was super cozy, clean, and the surrounding Hill Country scenery was such a peaceful change of pace from being in the city. Not to mention that Jen was extremely accommodating to our every need and request, totally surpassing our expectations.
We encountered an intense surprise rainstorm while out in Johnson City which, unbeknownst to us, threatened to completely flood the water crossings leading up the property. Fortunately, Jen went above and beyond to look out for us and make sure we got back to the cabin quickly and safely.
As the storm cleared, we had the privilege of meeting the animals (so friendly and cute!), learning about the wildlife, history and geology of the surrounding land, and enjoying the campfire and comfort of the cabin. We highly recommend visiting and will definitely be coming back soon!
Peaceful and quiet. Night sky is amazing! I got to see deer each day, fox, birds, lots of wildlife. It was private and quiet. I didn't have any issues during stay but feel Jen would take care of any problems. It is rustic but it was all i needed. AC worked great even when temp was upper 90s. There was enough in kitchen for my usage. The fresh eggs were awesome! I will definitely come back again. Thanks again for allowing me to enjoy your property!
Great time off the grid.
Jennifer’s hospitality was great, the cabin was just enough to keep the primitive feeling but not totally in the field. Very close to Pedernales State Park and the river. I will use Jen’s place in the future.
Such a cozy camp to stay at. It was so nice to get to enjoy this area and the cabin was perfect for our needs. Even though we didn’t meet Jen face to face, she was so pleasant to communicate with. She even sent us an invitation to come out and enjoy while her family were popping fireworks. The feed she left with the note to feed the deer was really cool. Thank you Jen!!!
A return to the heart of the earth
Absolutely amazing. Jen is beyond generous as a hostess and shared some incredible stories about the sacredness of this land. It was the perfect place to do a healing Men's Retreat and return to the heart of the earth.
The accommodations were the perfect mix of all natural and a little cozy, especially the campfire and cast-iron accoutrements, which were a beautiful way to connect with an old-timey Texan way of cooking.
Also the stars are unbelievable - I recommend sleeping in the great outdoors!
