Description

Nestled next to the looming East Mountain you’ll find 20 spots up for grabs at Hueco Tanks Campground. Sixteen of the sites come with water and electric hookups, while the other four sites only get water -- but you’ll be afforded an awesome view of the surrounding funky rock formations that Hueco Tanks is known for from anywhere within the campground. Each spot also comes with a picnic table, which, more importantly, is covered by a stone-and-wood shelter -- which means you’ll have a way to escape the blistering mid-day desert sun.

Hueco Tanks is one of the most fun places I have ever hiked because its kind of like a giant playground to explore. Once you get on top of the rock formation the exploration and searching for petroglyphs is endless. But MAKE SURE you have a reservation, even just for day visiting as the number of people in the park is limited per day. And camping reservation doesnt equal park reservation. You need one for each.
