Nice quiet space under a beautiful line of trees. We really appreciate the distance between campgrounds, you feel like you’re out in nature. Adorable armadillos came to visit at night, and the songs of coyotes in the distance was wonderful. Host was very nice; he checked in on us and gave us the lay of the land. The pit toilet was fine. We ended up using it although we brought our own bucket toilet and outhouse tent. Water is available at the barn, if you run out. Also this is a great spot for hammocks. Be prepared for flies; the site is on a working ranch. It was unusually warm, so we cut our trip a night short. We’ll definitely be back when it cools down.

We love staying at Emory’s property, and this was our second happy visit. Part of what makes this place special is that Emory is a kind and welcoming host. Depending on the weather the stream may run a bit low, and after creek-hiking up the way reached out to see if we could move to the new River Rock Campsite due to the swimming hole there having a bit more flow and depth. Emory was more than accommodating, and we spent the next two days floating our cares away. We definitely recommend this listing, and look forward to continuing to come back to enjoy the solitude, peace, and quiet.

Beautiful camp site. I really enjoyed the creek it's perfect for swimming and fishing for panfish. There's a couple of bass in there too. I suggest covering your clothes/camping gear with tick repellent as we noticed some on our stuff right away when we settled down.

This was our second stay on Emory’s property. Both times have been exceptional. Brookside Camp has a great spot tucked in the trees with a short walk to a private section of the river/creek.

Way better than state parks and priced better too!

This was such a great spot! I wanted to try to solo camp with my pup and this was a great first place to do it. I loved the views of the field on one side and the wood & creek on the other. Directions were super easy to follow as well. Highly recommend.

Brookside Camp was wonderful! My wife and I took our 15 month old son camping for the first time, and he had a blast! We were able to fish in the creek, hike around the ranch, and our son loved the cattle roaming in the pasture. Emory is a great host, and we hope to be back soon!

Beautiful area, great views of night sky, clean, flat and useful campsite area. There were no other campers at the other campsites on property, but even if there were they are far enough away that they'd be no bother. Far from the road and any structure, just the cows, trees, and the river. River was low when we went, but still enough to run clean and provide usable water near the campsite. Would recommend.
