Pitch your tent under the large canopies of ancient Post and Live Oak trees. Picnic table, fire ring, pit outhouse, and potable water (100 yards distance) make your stay more comfortable. You can drive directly to the site to make unloading your gear easy. There is access to the nearby Richardson River with a short walk. We have multiple ponds, valleys, hilltops, open pastures and brush land for you to explore. Plenty of wildlife calls this valley home including many different types of birds, deer, turkey, boars, foxes, bobcats, raccoons, opossums, and more! We are a working cattle and goat ranch as well as the beginnings of an eco-system agriculture orchard. In the vicinity you can enjoy a visit to Dinosaur Valley, Fossil Rim, Cowboy Capital Stephenville, Historic Granbury, antique shop Bluff Dale or visit the Vineyards, and much more! Enjoy the fresh air and serenity of this beautiful site!

Please no glass containers, shooting, or ATVs/dirtbikes at campsite. This is a pack it in, pack it out location. Please take trash with you and leave site clean. Also, no loud music at any time and dark time is quiet time.  Thank you!

Note:  There are currently three campsites on the property (Brookside, Ancient Oaks, and Richardson Creek).  From Ancient Oaks campsite Richardson Creek campsite is about 150 yards away.  There are trees between the two sites so each has privacy, but I put it in here just to let everyone know.

The property and campsites are beautiful. Campsites are well spaced. Felt like we were all by ourselves. Everything was just as Emory said. He also helped lead us in the direction for an off road park for our atv. Would stay again any day. Thank you Emory!

Ancient Oaks was gorgeous! Our camp had some of the most beautiful oak trees I’ve ever seen. A small hike brings you to a river on the side of the property with clear running water and a breathtaking landscape. The campsite was quiet, clean, and secluded. Our two night stay was a dream! I would most definitely camp here again.

We’ve stayed at Emory’s property several times but this was our first time at Ancient Oaks and it’s our least favorite spot. It doesn’t feel like a camp site, more like an after thought. While we’ll continue to stay on his property, we’ll pass on those particular site in the future.

Overall, we LOVE Emory’s other 3 sites!!

Despite the Texas heat, this was such an enjoyable camping trip! With the rolling hills you’d think you’ve entered a whole new state. Emory was kind enough to let us switch our campsite once we had time to explore since no one claimed this spot that night. We highly recommend if going while it’s hot taking a good beer and setting up your chairs in the creek to keep your foot cool and enjoy the scenery! Thanks Emory!

Ancient Oaks was a beautiful spot and Emory and his kiddos greeted us to let us know where everything was. We loved listening to the cows. Highly recommend this site.
