River was beautiful! Turquoise, green, clear water, and easy access from the sites. Each site looked like it had a fire pit. Sites 1-5 (for RVs) we’re closest to the river. We had site 25, which was further away but private.
The stars were beautiful at night. Could spot the Milky Way easily. We left on a Sunday and they were pretty lax about check out because no one was coming into our site. We pulled out about 3pm.
Very, very little cell service at our site. We have Verizon. They had a small wifi signal closer to the river but it didn’t reach out site. I also had to ask for the password, and didn’t realize they had it until another guest told me.
Top notch customer service
I wasn't actually able to stay here. I had car trouble on the way to the site which caused me to miss my booking. However when I explained the issue to the host, they offered to give me a credit towards what I had paid to be used for a future booking. This alone gives me reason to recommend them. I don't know if I'll actually be able to use the credit in the future, as my trip pulled me away from the area, but the fact that they were willing to extend the courtesy (which they did not have to do) shows that they are a host who is willing to go above and beyond for their guests. If I ever am back in the area, I plan on staying here and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
Beautiful hill country
Was going in there expecting it to be very primitive... but they’ve cleaned up their property very nicely ....It’s an up and coming RV/Tent Camp area... Beautiful views from river... I had camp 25, HWY in the front , DUMPSTER in the back... , but it wasn’t bad at all , I was expecting the worst.... I was wrong... Now the River was was HOT.... ask the local people, they sad in Mid-May- Sept it’s Stays around 96 in that particular crossing of the river. They have (A /1) bath house ( thank goodness) .... it’s something, the walk to the bath house was not that bad.... Nice breeze plenty of shade will definitely be back... April or October
P.S the town Mason only is 10 mins away and has everything you need, food , shopping, antiques
We stayed in Dos Rios for a night. The location was amazing. Just as described. However, if you are looking for a quiet, private RV spot, then this is not the place. It was quite the party scene the night we stayed!
Perfect family getaway.
We stayed on site 3, but honestly any site would have been perfect. The location felt very private and secluded. The few people we did run into were very friendly. Llano River was literally a 1 minute walk from our site. The views were amazing. Definitely will be back. Family friendly environment. Water was safe for all ages. Only recommendation is to have a pair of water shoes. Overall wonderful experience.
Great views, people and family fun!
We had a great time for the 2 nights we stayed. The park is right on one of the coolest parts of the Llano river where it meets the James around a rocky island in the center which it overlooks from a beautiful brown rocky cliff.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Bob who was extremely nice and gave us a few tips then showed us to our site.
We stayed in RV site #1 which is on the lower bench right above the river. Has a nice view and plenty of space between the pads which are crushed granite. Electric, water and sewage all there. The campsites look really secluded as well would would be ideal if we still planned to tent camp.
There are also Kayak rentals and a snack trailer run by a couple of really nice ladies with very reasonable prices considering the captive audience. The river was a lot of fun for adults and kids. Great way to cool off but easily 80 degrees F in May which was just right. The river is the main attraction for sure as there's not much else to do or many places to roam on the property.
We will definitely go back again after the COVID-19 thing blows over and when we can explore the town of Mason more.
Colin confirmed our reservation promptly and Bob received us very well at his location. In our place to park the travel trailer we had a great view of the lake front. Beautiful and quiet place to relax with the family.
