Nice, but not what we expected.
Overall we enjoyed our experience, but I wanted to mention a few pros/cons.
Pro: The back half of the area was really beautiful. The river is nice and feels very private. The hosts and neighbors are all very kind.
Cons: The river is really muddy, so do not forget your water shoes.
I also need to mention that when we arrived we were surprised because it wasn't anything like we expected from the ad/photos. All 3 sites sit directly on a road, and are directly next to each other (we are talking closer than neighbors on a city block) The sites are sandwiched between an RV that is a permanent residence, and a trailer that someone lives in (also each closer than neighbors on a city block). The area does not feel private at all.
The common area sits directly behind all 3 spots, and does not have any picnic tables or benches. It is covered with a tin roof just under a walnut tree. Said tree unleashes walnuts regularly and LOUDLY. You WILL jump and your dogs will run away multiple times an hour.
I just wanted to provide this feedback in case anyone else might be looking for an authentic camping experience that feels private and wooded.
For those looking for a spot to park their RV, make friends with the hosts and enjoy some river time, this spot is great.
Quiet, peaceful. Donna and Paul are very friendly and welcoming. Property falls away from the RV pad to the river in a park like setting; manicured and filled with large and small pecan trees. A small herd of deer have been outside my RV every morning since I arrived.
Beautiful and peaceful spot!
What a beautiful and peaceful stop. Donna and her husband Paul were great hosts and very accommodating. Very peaceful and quite place, beautiful view, resident barn owl, not overcrowded or busy. Would happily stay there again.
Wonderful atmosphere and so relaxing...beautiful views, the river is within walking distance the hosts were very friendly...will definitely be coming back
A little piece of heaven
If we could leave 10 stars we would! Donna and family are superb! The spaces are clean, well maintained, have a space for a fire and have all the hook ups for the RV. The fishing was great! The kids loved hanging out as well. Very family friendly and kid safe. I just can’t say enough good things! We will be back! Absolutely love it
