Solitude and room to explore await you at Bluff Creek Wilderness Preserve on 67 acres near Paige, TX. No house nearby, no small backyard, no dense campsites, just you, the gorgeous tall elms and oaks, the wildlife, and nearly 1 mile of clear, red-sandy creeks meandering through the property that run most of the year (except late summer)

There are only a few campsites scattered throughout the entire preserve so you will truly feel secluded. Sunset Cedars is located on the edge of a field facing North West. Nestled in a grove of beautiful cedars and oaks, you get all the shade required in TX, with an open view looking out over the field. Great spot for wild life watching and sometimes cow watching on the other side of the fence.

This site also accomodates vehicle camping. You can pull in under the trees, or camp in the field.

There is some solar lighting, a picnic table, and a fire pit with a swivel grill for cooking. Down a little path there is also a dry composting toilet exclusively for this site.

Gathering firewood IS allowed, as long as it's dead and fallen. Bring a saw! And please leave the live trees alone.

When not hanging out at camp you can explore the 50 acres of woods, the 17 acres of grasslands, the larger Bluff Creek, and the smaller Leak Creek. Bring your kayak or canoe If you want to paddle down Bluff Creek, your telescope if you want to stargaze at the dark sky, your kite to catch the wind in the field, or your binoculars for birdwatching.

Sunset Cedars was a lovely secluded campsite, perfect for getting away from the city. There are soft tent sites, trees to hang hammocks, and a field to sit out and look at the stars. Our dog was relaxed and happy, and we loved it stay. There is also a convenient dry composting toilet 😉

What a great find. This land is lovely and private and has a diverse landscape and just the right amenities to make camping easy and delightful. This spot has nice trees and feels secluded but overlooks a wide open field and features a vast star-filled sky. The campsite provides a picnic table, fire pit with cooking grate and cover, solar lights, multiple nice flat areas for tents and a path to a private compost outhouse with lighting as well. There is also a water hose available. We enjoyed wandering the property, listening to the crickets and coyotes and will keep this as a go-to spot in the future. 1 hour from Austin makes it so easy and the owners were responsive and accessible for questions etc. Highly recommend.

Campfire ring provided has swivel grate for cooking and cover to ensure no escaping coals at nightSunsets were amazing and stars galore at night!Perfect trees for a couple of hammocks for relaxing and watching that skyMorning coffee gazing out over the open pasture
