Beautiful area and very tasty wine!
We stayed at RV site 1. It was quiet, very scenic and the wine was amazing! It had electric and water. Walt met us at the site and showed us where the electric hookup was. He was super nice and was available at the winery if we needed anything.
Not suitable for rv-ers
We attempted to camp here last weekend. There are no signs to the winery until your very last turn. There is one tiny sign to the campsites, but the campsites are so primitive we were for sure that sign was for the tent campers that they describe in the listing, not the RV campers. You’re supposed to call an hour before you arrive. I called twice, no one answered.
So we drove up to the winery on the worst roads our camper has ever been on. It was awful. Then we were told to drive back down to the primitive campsites, where the roads are worse, and - turns out, there’s no electric. They advertise electric to the RVers.
Thankfully we got here in daylight and didn’t arrive late the night before as we were supposed to. So we left, drove an hour to a KOA, and stayed there.
The wine might be good, but I’d never suggest camping here. This was our first time to try out HipCamp and I’m truly disappointed.
This place is so gorgeous! Stunning vistas. The hiking trails are well marked abd maintained. And definitely visit the tasting room. Delicious food, excellent wine, and wonderfully kind staff.
Great place to
Great site. Very quiet with nice hot showers. The drive there is interesting and unique - fields of small old oil rigs against a backdrop of huge new windmills.
Exceeded our expectations
4R really exceeded our expectations. We stayed the weekend for my hubby's birthday and had a wonderful time. We have a 24 ft. tow trailer and we stayed at Site 2. It was perfect. Electric hookup only (we have 30 amp). The camp site is located a little further up the road from the other sites so it felt fairly private. You do get traffic from cars coming in and out of property passing by but no big deal. Site is located right by the vineyards. The property was beautiful and hilly and was very unexpected as it is pretty flat on the drive there. The hiking trail was really nice. We got wine to go the first night and had dinner in the tasting room the 2nd. Food and wine are amazing and staff is so friendly. We got a Hipcamp discount when we bought wine. Take time to drive in to Muenster if you have it. We stopped at a coffee shop, strolled through antique mall and bought food at the German market. It was a great weekend and we will go back!
Beautiful property with well maintained campsites and awesome views! Cute western decor for the shower and restroom facilities.
Only 2 showers and 1 portable toilet for the whole place. Showers were adequate with warm water, but needed to be cleaned. The portable toilet was disgustingly full. OK if you want a truly rustic experience.
