This was a wonderful and unique camping experience! We were thrilled. It was a nice combination of isolated/private and friendly/social. The animals were the star standouts but the human inhabitants were not far behind : ). The hosts were smart, thoughtful, happy to offer help, tell stories, share their passions for their land with us. But back to the animals: wow the emus! Terrifying at first, but ultimately just big goofy birds who are living a great life with all the other well-loved animals. Some of the happiest, friendliest animals you'll ever see. My personal favorite was Leia the sheep, who found her group of friends with the cows and not the goats.
The campsite is totally private, with a picnic bench and fire pit. There's plenty of fire wood on site, as the hosts are actively managing the overgrown woody plants. There's a funny little bathroom set up which worked out just fine.
When I needed help figuring out what to do when my previous plans fell through, Kelly came up with several ideas and texted them to me, and we were able to make the best of my mistaken plans.
Super friendly hosts, happy interesting animals, privacy and beauty in the great outdoors = this place is a top find!

Site and host
Remote, private, trees, friendly host, cute animals, relaxed feeling, gather firewood on site, picnic table. Bring own toilet paper, surrounding neighbor dogs barking most of the night, roosters are noisy at night too. Kellie is great. Highly recommend. Thanks Kellie
Great place to camp. The host was very friendly and we had a good time watching, petting and feeding the animals. I really enjoyed seeing the emu's up close. One of the emu's got a bit aggressive but the host put her in the pen when we said it was making us uncomfortable. The campsite is secluded with a picnic table and fire pit. The toilet is a bucket with a seat so definitely "primitive".
The campsite is big, secluded and beautiful. I loved the fire pit, but the animals are what made the trip fantastic. I got to feed baby goats! We got to pet donkeys and sheep and an emu visited our site! It was awesome.

This was a wonderful spot to camp near Austin. The hosts were very gracious and welcoming, showing us around and making sure we were comfortable. The campsite is in a secluded, wooded area away from the house, and has plenty of space. We enjoyed the friendly animals and highly recommend them, but if your group is concerned with dogs or other farm animals, this may not be the spot for you.
I was able to make last minute arrangements to camp here and boy-howdy I am so glad we did! It was an amazing stay. The campsite is at the back of the property, and while feeling secluded, it is a short walk to the front where the animals are.
All the animals were so friendly, the kids loved spending all day playing with the baby goats. I was weirdly very partial to the turkeys.. Teddy the emu was very friendly and followed us everywhere.
The campsite was well kept! Plenty of room to set up camp with shaded trees. I would recommend bringing a lot of bug spray because the mosquitos are no joke (I watched one methodically work it’s sucker through the fibers of my shirt) and you will find yourself walking through tall grass often (6-12 inch high depending where you are).
Kellie was amazing to work with! Very helpful, quick to respond, very friendly, you can tell she takes pride in the farm and the camp. Their dog, Scout, would wonder out to our camp and be a wonderful addition around the fire pit. Her daughter quickly befriended my kids, After leaving we got a mile down the road before my boys were trying to plan their next play day with her.
Couldn’t recommend this place enough! We will be back for sure.
We had a great time! We had 3 adults and 2 preschoolers. The kids had a blast and enjoyed all the animals. The piglet, Pearlsnap, was my favorite. She is a sweetheart and spent a lot of time following us around. Kellie was a very gracious host and her daughter enjoyed showing the kids around. It was our first successful camping trip. The campsite was nicely set up, with a fire pit, picnic table, and bench, plenty of provided firewood, and ample supplies of kindling surrounding the site. It is a little bit of a walk to the site, so if you're contemplating bringing a wagon to transport your things, it wouldn't be a bad idea. However, it's not difficult to make a few trips back and forth. And you will want to make trips back and forth anyway to visit the animals and get water from the well house. We only wish we'd stayed longer! My daughter wanted to move in permanently 😂.
