This listing is for tent and car campers only. If you would like to stay at our site with travel trailers or RVs, please check out our other listing, "Campsite on the Caney."
Located right on Caney Fork River, our campsite offers unlimited activities to bring out the kid in all of us. Tucked away in the hills of White County, "Campsite on the Caney" is a wonderful place for avid fishermen, boaters, kayakers, and the fellow outdoors lovers!
We provide electricity and water for guests. We offer a private boat ramp/ driveway that leads to the water for launching boats, kayaks, and easier fishing access. Tents and car campers are welcome to stay down by the water where you can wake up right on the river bank. The campsite offers a swing set, picnic table, and saucer swing where campers can relax by the fire and enjoy watching the wildlife. Campers are more than welcome to string up a hammock by the water. We provide a charcoal grill right next to the picnic table. When you book "Campsite on the Caney", you are the only campers on site. I do not double book guests so campers have the whole place to themselves.
Note: Cell service is spotty for Verizon and very scarce for AT&T.
Note: During the summer months, we may use our ramp to launch our boat but you will be notified in ample time.
We are just a few miles from Highway 111 and minutes from downtown Sparta.
Surrounded by Fall Creek Falls State Park, Lost Creek Falls and Cave, Rock Island State park, Burgess Falls State Park, and Virgin Falls. Our campsite is minutes from Lost Creek Falls and Cave with a beautiful scenic drive through the back roads of White County. We have two amazing overlooks in White County: Welch's Point and Sunset Rock, that pictures do not do justice!
White County has more caves, waterfalls, and scenic overlooks per square mile than anywhere else in the United States. We are a bustling town with so much recreation, history, and culture that it has to be shared!
Our place is perfect for a weekend getaway for the whole family and we hope that you love "Campsite on the Caney" as much as we do.

Had a great experience setting up our hammocks down by the river. We had one issue and that was a neighbors dog, called Cameron and she got the dog back to his owner and didn’t have a problem for the rest of the night. Already chopped firewood and plenty of outdoor comforts I would recommend anyone wanting a peaceful night by the river to stay a night or more. Thank you again for the stay.
You should go.
Great location for the summer (w or w/o kids). The host Cameron was welcoming and super helpful over the phone (always accessible). Near the water. Not one mosquito in sight. Fire pit. Nice, scenic drive to the camp site (so many cows 🐄's) and cows mooing in the distance at 6am...what more could you ask for. Thanks Cameron!
The owner is nice and very responsive. The property is pretty secluded and peaceful. The fire pit, grill etc. are up the hill from the river and are right on the road, but I think the only car we noticed was the mailman. It is set up for RVs. If you tent camp, you are at the bottom of the hill. The only thing we missed was a fire pit down by the river. Over all, I would absolutely recommend it and would stay there again.
