This campsite is an excellent base from which to make day trips to the Murray River, the world-renowned Barossa wine region or the Adelaide Hills, all of which are about 34-45 minutes away.Campers can go 4WD driving on a track 10 minutes away and visit a wildlife sanctuary. If you have a black light you will see the Wombats in the dark. There is also a walking trail nearby, and a community native garden to visit. Firewood is available, thru Winter for a small fee.
RV dump points are about half an hour away, one in Mt Pleasant at the oval and one across the River in Mannum. For caravans access is best from Three Chain rd, thru the neighbours gate. to park on the flat paddock . I ask that all tenters and swaggers please bring a portable camping toilet . Wombat creek was a beautiful spot with a great view of the stars at night. We would definitely go back.
No frills and was quiet despite it being a busy Easter weekend. Easy to find and a nice walk along the creek bed. Silvia is a great host and stopped by to make sure everything was ok.
Beautiful views, very peaceful and Silvia was great allowing us to book last minute. Spoke to Silvia about maybe putting another sign on the land to make it easier for people to know once they arrive, that’s the camping area which she was very willing to do. My dog loved it but just need to be careful as there was lots of dry shrubs and the thorns kept sticking to us and the dog. Had a great experience overall :)
Silvia was a great host and the freedom to set up how you want is great! Lots of space and very relaxed vibe!
We had a great time! I advise you to bring good shoes and plenty of shade though!
