Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
A basic but clean and tidy fully self contained cabin (amenities block is approx. 30m away from the cabin), built in part of a larger structure, located 100m from the main farm homestead, on a small rise above the bank of the Wild River. Guests are able to access the river which can vary in size depending on the time of the year. There are 100's kms of tracks which can be accessed from the property suitable for mountain biking, hiking, horse riding or motor bikes (we do not allow motor bikes to be ridden on our property other than to come and go while accessing the surrounding State Forest Tracks or main roads). The property is isolated and situated .5 kms away from our nearest neighbours, so is suitable for those who will enjoy a quiet time in nature. Most times of the year it is possible to have a camp fire along side the river. During the wet season it is advisable to have a 4WD or at least a vehicle with higher clearance vehicle to access the property. As a licensed caterer for many years, I am able to provide Meals & Snacks should you require them. We do offer horse rides on 2 of our quiet horses, conditions apply. If you have your own horses that you'd like to bring we can provide you a 4 acre paddock for your horses to use.A basic but clean and tidy fully self contained cabin (amenities block is approx. 30m away from the cabin), built in a part of a larger structure, located 100m from the main farm homestead, on a small rise above the bank of the Wild River. The property is very isolated and situated .5 kms away from our nearest neighbours, so is suitable for those who will enjoy a quiet time in nature. On The Wild Side
We had a wonderful time On the Wild side during this years Christmas. The cabin has everything you could ask for to have a comfortable stay including a very comfortable bed and a fully equipped kitchen. My concern about it being too hot without fan or aircon was absolutely not necessary as it cools down nicely even during the sommer heat and I needed the provided blanket to sit outside in the evening (I am from Cairns ;-) ). We enjoyed the surroundings on hikes, mountain bikes and last but not least on Julie's beautiful horses. Another highlight was Julie's kitchen and every evening we were surprised with a healthy and delicious dinner and we all loved every bit of it. The fridge was equipped with home-made pies and desserts to keep us fed during the day. I honestly could have stayed much longer as it is much better than at home. Special mention to Colby the dog - he has become a family member and won all our hearts within a short time. If you ever stay here, you know what I mean, such a special dog ❤ I can highly recommend On the Wild Side to every nature loving guests 💕

On The Wild Side
Such a lovely, quiet, peaceful spot...clean, comfortable accomodation and such lovely hosts! Highly recommend taking Juli up on the offer of a cooked meal! And the ability to take my own horses was such a bonus. Lovely trails (and a fabulous guide if needed) with the only suggestion being to ensure you have either hard-hoofed horses or boots for them as it can be rough terrain. Will definitely be back!

Highly recommend "on the wild side" Juli & Barry are lovely peope and our stay was amazing. The cabin was nice and clean with everything we needed. We did some 4WDing, we explored the creeks nearby, we rode horses and relaxed. Absolutely will return! Kids had a blast! Thank you so much!

On The Wild Side
We had a great long weekend with Juli, Barry and Colby! Bonfires by the river…. Nites full of stars and meteorites…. Horse rides and great walks….. A (cold!) swim in the Wild River…. So far off the road it’s incredibly quiet…. And to top if all off, Juli can make you an AMAZING meal! We’ll be back, no question!

Relaxing, organic, adventurous!
We absolutely loved our weekend stay at 'On the Wild Side'. Juli and Barry catered to our every need (including our dietary requirements with delicious allergy friendly food!) and made our weekend thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable. The kids particularly loved the horse riding experience with wonderful, gentle horses for beginners. Thankyou!!
