When we got there at three thirty our reserved spot was taken and all the others were filled one by a pickup so luckily we were able to find a spot. The spot looked really rough and way to close to each other and kind of broke down looking. I would not recommend this site to anyone

Response from Dave, the Host, on September 21st, 2022

Jerry, I understand this is your 1st HipCamp, so I'm sending a refund. I'm sorry someone parked in your spot. I sent you two phone numbers along with details, Map links and special notes to your cell. You answered several days later and said you don't text and could I email the instructions. I emailed you everything along with two contact phone numbers in case you had any questions/issues. During a BIG event like Pendleton Roundup having a vehicle park in a space they should not be in, really is "Par for the course". If you would have called either number(that I sent you twice) we would have had the vehicle moved in minutes. Just leaving and never letting us know means we had no opportunity to have the truck moved. Please communicate with the camp hosts and always let them know if an issue arises that needs attention. We all communicate here at HipCamp and that's how our community works so well. Using your text feature, or a phone call will be fastest but even if you just want to email, you'll usually get fast resolution.I wish you well on future HipCamping.

Beautiful setting. Lovely campsite on the grass. Restaurant and owners were awesome! Food was amazing. But if you want to sleep, no chance. Railroad tracks are nearby and train comes by about every half hour blowing its horn through the intersection so that’s what you get all night long.

This was a great stop over on a long trip over I84. Right off the highway. The food in the cafe was amazing and unexpected. We just needed an inexpensive, safe place to park and have power so we could sleep with AC and carry on down the road, Dave’s place was perfect. The trains did not bother us at all.

It was as described. The trains didn’t bother us but I can see how they might. Cute cafe with good food!

Dave is a wonderful and kind man whom I met briefly but felt Ive known always. My car got stuck in the snow during my stay and Dave was compassionate and eager to help in any way he could. This is a great spot if you want: 1.) a place to pitch/park, 2.) a chance to interact with super down to earth locals, 3.) get some delightful Country breakfast and coffee right after you wake up

The only downside is the spot is next to a busy railroad. The horns are loud as hell and will wake you up if you sleep early. Thankfully, the trains stopped rolling through around 9PM and I would guess this is usually the case aswell.
