Fishermen, hunters, families, or overnighters - camp here in our easy access, flat field, alongside the Alsea North Fork. Views of Old Blue Mountain and the farm. Steps to the steelhead/ trout hatchery and fishing in the river. It’s quiet and peaceful here.

Close travel to deer and elk hunting (sorry, no hunting on the property). Must be self contained, no hookups. No fires please, as it’s a dry field.

Note: this field is an open area, and is not “exclusive” use. Campers from my Riverside and Grove sites will access water, recycling and garbage at this field, and are allowed use for games, stargazing, and other recreational purposes. I will also allow multiple bookings in the field. This is however a quite large field so there is plenty of space to spread out.

If my Riverside site is occupied, acccess to the river is not allowed there, but is easily available upstream 200 yards at the swimming hole.

Bill and his family were super welcoming and I had a great stay. The place was beautiful, kind of bummed it rained on us but I would totally come back in the summer to star gaze in the field!

Our third trip this year. We love the openness. Stars were spectacular. Best part though is the helpfulness and concern of the hosts.

Had a nice peaceful stay here. Watched the hawks fly around, and did some stargazing. Excellent viewing conditions if you get a clear night. The treeline blocks a bit of the sky but generally it's a nice field of view. I wasn't expecting it but I had 2 bars of Verizon LTE (I don't think other carriers will work if you need cell service). Having a bathroom and water provided also nice! One tip, watch out for random holes in the field when walking around at night!

Gorgeous spot right next to the Alsea River. Close access to two magical places in Alsea Falls and Mary's Peak. We had a big bright full moon, which unfortunately reduced our stargazing opportunities, but I'm sure that would be spectacular otherwise.

We enjoyed our time in the meadow. It was very quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately we arrived when a heat wave was ongoing. There is no shade in the meadow but there is a pool a short walk to the river that offers relief from the heat. Stargazing was good. Those you with trailers over about 20' need a caution to make as wide a turn into the drive as wide as possible as it is a narrow driveway with fence posts on either side. We ate at Deb's in Alsea one day and we can't really give it an enthusiastic thumbs up. i understand it has changed ownership during the Pandemic. I will probably be back for the peace and quiet and stargazing when this heat abates.

This is indeed a meadow. The stars are incredible too! Lovely site with creative amenities. Perfect get-away-from-it-all. Would definitely return.

Swimming hole was close and lots of fun. Stargazing at night was fantastic. My kids really enjoyed walking down to the hatchery as well. A great camping spot for families.

This was a stargazing utopia! The field was easy to find and stocked with water, picnic tables, and a lovely clean bathroom. Tim was helpful, and came out to greet me and answer questions when I arrived. And the STARS.

Id stay here again in a heartbeat!
