Welcome to Molalla Ripple!
Enjoy the sound of the Molalla River rolling over the rocks. Wake up to birds chirping and tall trees swaying in the breeze. The campsites are sixty feet apart for privacy and one path leads to the river with two private beach areas to relax. The river flow does change after heavy rains so it may not be suitable to swim in the early spring but fishing is great! The river flows at its lowest level in July and August which helps our learning swimmers enjoy the water. Walk out to the swimming hole from the river path to cool down on a hot summer day.
We work with our local Oregon Department of Forestry to insure that we comply with all campfire regulations along the river. When needed they may or may not issue permits to allow burning. Please respect the neighbors to the north by staying on the same side of the sign reading "END OF HIP CAMP."
On our 25 acre farm known as JSM Ranch you'll see black angus beef cattle grazing on grass pastures along with free range goats, sheep, ducks and chickens. Our beef cattle are 100% grass fed with no hormones, antibiotics or grain finish added. We practice rotational grazing on our farm. Some times the cattle will not be in the fields next to the camp sites. But your welcome to walk our fields to find them. You're only minutes away from the town of Molalla to grab a bite, groceries or other camp items. You won't be disappointed for a great breakfast at Tammy D's (Mulino, OR), sandwiches at Humble Pig or pizza at Bear Creek Pizza & Pub. Please review the rules to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment as we have electric fences and moving water. Check out our Group site River Rock for bigger families. We change our rates with the seasons.

Farm stay right on the river.
So great to have a place to stay right next to the river! I have a medium camper van and was able to park at a spot. Cows, sheep, pig and chickens. Good wifi. You have to pack out the trash, but cans are provided. Staying in the Fall, midweek I was the only one there. Great communication from the host which I never met in person. Very peaceful and quiet.
Molalla Riple Campsite #1 was great. The campsite was well maintained with partial views of the river through nice trees. There was also a water pump next to the site that sounded like a nice water fountain - very soothing! While it's technically private, you can see the adjacent campsite...and if anyone had opted to rent the hottub it would have been right next to us. James was a great, responsive host and brought us wood when we asked for more and gave us tips for where to walk to see the full property. We also enjoyed a very nice, lazy afternoon on paddleboards in the river which was pretty relaxing.
Would recommend and return again
Very fun, I was on site 2, for 4 days 3 nights. Path right down to the river great sunset and sunrise. There are many craw dads and fish, and frogs. Right next to the cows and the big old piggy. Had a great time with my 2 German shepherds they loved the water. I would recommend this camp to anyone! Will definitely be staying here from now on!
Booked site #3 for two nights and added huddle of firewood. Cons: site was smaller than expected and no wood when I arrived. The ground was uneven and only one real option to place my tent. Site 3 was private as advertised but could tell the other two were not. Pros: gorgeous scenery, quite since I was the only spot occupied, but probably quite regardless. Waking up to the sound of the river was as relaxing as you’d expect. Site 2 had straw laid out, which made my spot a bit of a downer. Overall, I’d recommend the camp and a spot I’d go back to during hot weather
Campsite 3 was a great spot on the Molalla river with access to the water right from the campsite. Everything was well kept up and the bathrooms were kept very clean! Was a great weekend getaway to enjoy the water and relax.
Site#2 Great place to relax and unwind from hectic work schedules. And just a hour away from Portland. Beautiful view of the river. Close by bathrooms and water supplies if needed. I enjoyed the quiet surroundings listening to wild life. Will definitely return. Thanks again James for opening up your property for us to relax from day to day life!!
